Lapping Problems - HELP

ok, ill do it for another 30 mins with 220 and then post my results. I have also drawn a cross with a marker. After about 3 mins, i can already see some high spots forming.

Hi gyus, im now onto the 600 grade. I sanded with 400 until all the lines were consistently running the same way. It took about 30 mins. Should i be only sanding in one direction with the 600 or rotating 90 degree 60 second intervals as before ?

beh, I have inputed enough m8, there is 100's of Lapping guides and dozens of threads here avail and its Saturday Night and im now off out and wont be back till 1-3am.

hahaha, understood. It's not that i havnt read the guides. Just with all the conflicting opinions - well, it's nice to have some reassurance.

Anyways, have a good one and ill post how i get on. I'm going to switch to just one way as explained within this video.

I found exactly the same problem - seems to be just the type of wet 'n dry paper that youre using.

I got a multipack... which disintegrates like that with the 200 and 400 grit, but my individual sheets that I bought elsewhere of 800 and 1200 grit dont do it!!

Nothing much you can do about it by the look of it, other than try looking for "proper" silicon carbide paper.

Parts are still on there way mate :( Will be here this week so i'll let you know how i go. I'm going to create build log anyway.

To answer your question:

Pretty good :D

I'll do load temps etc ASAP.

VCORE in BIOS = 1.275 - Is that good?

Oh, does anyone know of a thread that details suggested bios settings for the P5K? I know there are around but can't remember for the life of me where i saw them

I think this chip is a good-in. Very little vdroop and pretty good temps when you consider that the AS5 hasn't bedded in yet.

Very impressive beh, well done ;)

Just out of curiostity what were your temps before for comparison....and did the TT need much lapping as mine seems pretty straight !!

It looks like I will join you and I will lap my quad, I know there are a few threads about this, but what grades did you start/ finish with.

once again well done :D

haha, you know the answer to this question mate. Remember, i lapped from new so i didn't have any comparision stats :D Also, there are serveral factors that are skewing these results:

- Cables (OMG they are everywhere)
- Girlfriend: She keeps turing the bloody apartment heating up :p
- AS5: Is certaining not bedded in
- Voltage: Havn't had to touch it yet. I would imgine that when i do the temps will sky rocket!!!!

To answer you question about the Tunic, no, i don't think it really needed that much lapping. TBH, i should have started with 400 and just focused on getting it really flat as aposed to start with 200.

Wow. tried COD4 last night. Wow that game is awesome! Certainly beats halo lol.
