Whats peoples opinions on this.

Use to use nod32 and commodo but got rid of commodo due to it causing BSOD's in winxp but apparently that has been fixed now - anyone confirm this or is it best to use the new nod32 with firewall as well?

Not sure about Comodo, but for Antivirus, if you're wanting free then i would recommend Avast 4.8, which now includes Antispyware and Antirootkits too. Very efficient with resources too, I use Windows Firewall, but I did briefly use Comodo a bit since and it worked flawlessly!

I've never bothered with Windows Firewall or any Firewall, Just rely on the routers firewall. Never had a problem.

As for Antivirus I use Avast, it does everything I need and its free.

For XP I use Sygate Personal Firewall. For Vista I just use Vistas built in one.

Avast! for me, been using it for years. Great product.

Have not used a firewall for over a year now, I just used the built in windows one and my routers own firewall. Avast is a very good AV for free, but if you have Nod 32 already then stick with that :).

Been using Comodo +Defense (freeware) for a while now. Its Application-Monitor does nag a lot but then I found a simple right-click on its icon in the system tray and you can disable the warnings (which resemble Vistas UAC). The firewall hardly nags and when you first install - it quickly goes through its learning process. I guess it comes with a database of known safe programs. You can set its mode though if you want more agressive control. A great freeware offering I think.

I use AVG for the antivirus side of things. Its interface is clunky with Win 98-style windows popping up all over the place. They need to tie it all in - like Avira does. But its given stellar service.

I've been using Nod32 for a good while now, and recently (~1 month ago) have been using Comodo Firewall with it. I run Windows XP Home (SP3) and have had no problems at all. :)
