Had a fabulous trip up north with a small group of like-minded individuals last week, not posted anything for about 6 weeks so thought I'd share them.
Here is a wee batch of shots taken on Wed/Thurs
Any CC most welcome, thank you for looking

===============================
We reached Rannoch Moor as the sun was coming up, we pressed on ahead to the famous Buachaille in the hope that some spectacular rays of light would illuminate the snowy peak (shot of a lifetime stuff if you know what I mean)...
But, nothing happened except for lots of snow!
1. Buachaille Etive Mor
10mm | f/16 | 1sec | ISO-100 | ND Grad | CPL
Next up from Wed, a quick stop at Loch Linnhe (just before you arrive at Fort William).
Not the most exciting shot in the world by any means (if you ever see the loch you'll see it's not really all that inspiring...) but I quite like the curve in the foreground so figured I'd just post it anyway
2. Loch Linnhe
10mm | f/13 | 1/6sec | ISO-100 | ND Grad | CPL
On Wednesday afternoon we took the Elgol Road and stopped on the Strathaird side of Loch Slappin. Having researched the area I knew there was a photogenic location nearby, however I knew this would also require a hike.
When we got to about 700ft we were met with the most spectacular setting - a superb river with wonderful textures and colour, and the threatening and moody Hills in the background. The snow on the hills adds even more to the scene, absolutely wonderful spot and one I shall look to revisit next time . I think this one is going to have a rework as it has an almost 'photomatix' look to it at the moment (something I'd rather avoid...)
3. Allt na Dunaiche Looking To Bla Bheinn and Clach Glas
10mm | f/16 | 0.4sec | ISO-100 | ND Grad | CPL
And a moody pano from the same location:
4. Allt na Dunaiche Black and White Pano
3 Merged | 12mm | f/11 | 1/13sec | ISO-100 | ND Grad
When the sun went down we headed to Eilean Donan Castle at dusk, luckily Loch Alsh was like a mirror and there was plenty of snow in the background mountains, bonus!
5. Eilean Donan Castle Pano
3 Merged | 70mm | f/8 | 20sec | ISO-100
Onto Thursday, we rose early in the hope of catching a sunrise - I had a specific viewpoint in mind but we were running a bit late so decided to just pull over at the road and make the best out of what we could
I didn't think I would have a keeper from this particular shoot but this one I am surprisingly pleased with. I left the tree tops at the bottom to help complete the frame and give the scene a little more depth.
6. Sunrise Sound of Raasay
73mm | f/8 | 1/30sec | ISO-100
...and a moody mono looking to the mainland as the light got a little harsh
7.Looking Over the Sound of Raasay Mono
200mm | f/8 | 1/1250 | ISO 2oo (HTP)
Next up, round to Staffin Bay down to the shore in the hope of catching some waves, I looked around and the light was catching these cliffs so I slapped on the CPL again and got this which has got a bit of potential for either a colour or mono frame (this is more or less straight out of the camera need to burn in the corner a little):
8. Rubha Garbhaig
17mm | f/11 | 1/20sec | ISO-100 | CPL
Next stop, the Quiraing, a spectacular geological formation. At this point the sun was quite intense but coming from a 90 degree angle therefore bringing out the textures in the rugged landscape, I slapped on the CPL again to cut through the haze and make the scene pop out a bit more, this one definitely has potential for a mono conversion later..
9. Quiraing
17mm | f/11 | 1/20sec | ISO-100 | ND Grad | CPL
