Was planning to finish doing my Car up but then my computer decided to shut down on me last night. Got a holiday coming up in a few months too so it was great timing money wise!

Cant afford to go over the £400 limit so if you can list a gaming spec pc for around that price it would be brilliant.

Anyone got ideas about my current computer, i was just playing one of my computer games when it came up with a blue screen saying it was shutting down my pc to protect it. Went to start it up again and it would not load, it did the CPU check and IDE check at start (did notice the cpu speed check was going slow?) then checked my raid HDD, that came up fine went to next screen with all this periphals or something and just stuck there? Any ideas? going to take it to a computer shop on monday but any quick hints to get it started again?

Anyways back to topic please list a decent gaming specification, got monitor, mouse keyboard speakers! no need for a large HDD 200-250 fine.

Thanks in advance!

well in that case I would stick with your current case and psu.

I'll do a spec in a bit ocuk website seems to be down.

I would also go for Intel as clock to clock they're faster and that's without the over clocking potential.

all i know abt my case is antec case and its a AMD motherboard, so i would maybe think its an ATX case? (tryed looking for my previous purchases on OC but cant find anything in my email address)

I dont over clock so just need good standard hardware :) and thanks for your time

/edit

just did a google on my case and found a picture of it, and seems to be Antec Sonata II. (http://www.acoustiproducts.com/en/acoustipack_antec_sonata_2_case.asp)

I editted my post above, sorry my computer is dead and my little broke my ones before.

Currently at my girlfriends grandmothers house and using their laptop :)

Dont know just came up with a blue screen saying shutting comptuer down for safety... ?

Tryed booting it up again and went past the CPU, IDE, HDD check then got stuck on a black screen with loads of white writing. Cant type anything, taking it to computer shop on monday but still going to get a new setup i think my current one is a few years old now!

How about something like this?

If you want you could always get a slightly cheaper mobo and get a slightly faster cpu.

Tuniq Tower 120-LFB CPU Cooler (Socket 478/754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)

Samsung SpinPoint S 160GB SATA-II 8MB Cache - OEM (HD161HJ)

BFG GeForce 8800 GT 512MB OC

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Intel P35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Intel Core 2 Duo E2160 "LGA775 Conroe" 1.80GHz (800FSB) - Retail

OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 Dual Channel Vista Gold Series DDR2 (OCZ2G8004GK)

Akasa Ultra Quiet 500W Paxpower Active PFC ATX2.2 PSU - Black Nickel

The spec i just bought cost me just over 400

No point in getting a cooler as he's not planning to over clock, he also has a psu. So might as well spend more on the other parts.

Thanks for your specs below, Acid dont need the DVD optical drive, but could you recommened a bit faster CPU? like 3GHz? as i would like to play AoC when it comes out on this PC :) Cheers

also is my 450w PSU atm good enough for the above?

yep 450 is enough. Needs min 400watt for single card and min 450watt for sli on that card.

As for cpu. The q6600 should see 3ghz if you over clock. Other than that any stock speed is out of your price range.

dont really know how to overclock and how it changes the life span of things, so would the edited list from yours i posted above be ok? :) thanks

added u on msn if u prever quick conversations :)
