New Wii - Couple Questions

Hey,

I took the plunge and purchased my Wii (hooray!) i registered at club-nintendo.com and have 500 points (useless for me?) and it also says i can register the console for 1000 points (but how?)

So, that said if you tell me how to register the console and i do, 1500 stars is still useless correct? Unless i save upto over 4000 an get some game holder which i dont require.


Another thing, Wii channels. The menu has about 100 blocks yet i only have about 5 channels (built in ones plus some voting thing) i need a web browser...yet i have to pay for it with 500 points? Is there no other free browser i can use as i have no wii points.

As for channels, is there no other ones i can get, third party features an apps etc?

You can convert your star point into Wii points which you can use to buy VC games and soon enough Wiiware games, tho off the top of my head i cant remember the conversion rate.
 
I think there is a separate bit of paper in the console box, just like the one that comes with a game. (I think)
 
The browser was free whilst it was Beta, but now is 500 credits.

As far as additional channels are concerned, there is no third party channels as yet. However in may will see the release of Wii Ware which allows you to download third party games for credits. Also both Super Smash bros Brawl and Mario Kart Wii once played will add a channel for online features.
