But Seriously, its wrong on so many levels.

Court documents have revealed that a father and daughter at the centre of a South Australian incest scandal had previously had a child who died of a congenital disease.

The pair, John and Jenny Deaves, began a sexual relationship and had two children after Jenny tracked down the father she had never known.

The Deaves and their apparently healthy nine-month-old baby daughter were featured on 60 Minutes last night.

John and Jenny Deaves were found guilty last month of a single charge of performing an act of incest with the other.

Court documents show that another child they had in 2001 died soon after being born.

The sentencing remarks show the pair were charged with two counts of incest in 2007 after police were tipped off about their relationship following an investigation by the Department for Families and Communities South Australia.

The pair were initially bailed on the condition that Mr Deaves have no contact with Ms Deaves or their child — a condition the judge said drove Mr Deaves to attempt suicide twice.

How utterly irresponsible to have a child. It's one thing having an immoral relationship but that takes it to a whole new level.

Because they didn't know each other when she was a child, and thus an incest taboo didn't develop?

The same way that adopted siblings have an incest taboo but siblings separated at birth do not.
 
Why would you feel like throwing up, it's sex but they are related? :p

Because everyone's imagining themselves in the same situation, and given that they grew up with their parents they have an incest taboo with their parents and therefore find it disgusting.

i agree; it's weird but in no way OMG IM GOING TO BLOW.

what i don't understand is why it's against the law to have a relationship with family, to have kids i understand as what it could do to them, but a relationship i can't see the harm in it, imo it's the same as a gay or lesbian couple getting married
 
There was a programme on tv last week about sexual relationships between brothers and sisters and they talked about this which was quite interesteding. Not sure if it relates to father - daughter but it might go some way to help explain.
 
Although not illegal the numbers of marriages between cousins in the UK within certain ethnic groups is supposed to be causing birth problems like the one in the case the op linked to.

had a read of the link, it suggested that one reason for father and daughter is the daughter reminds the father of the mother
