Having found out I could have watched Pompey reach the FA cup final (:D) in HD, am wondering what is the best way to get TV on my monitor (Hyundai W240D).

Is a TV card required or is there a USB dongle-type setup available?

Thanks.

According to a quick search your monitor has the following ports
# One DVI-D Input w/HDCP Support
# One Analogue Input
# One Component Input
# One HDMI Input

So, if you want to do HD, use either an HDMI or DVI cable and connect your sky or virgin or whatever HD source box to your monitor. I have a PS3 PC and Sky+ box connected to my monitor at the same time, without the need for an external tuner box.

Where is your HD source coming from and what sort of connectors does it have? It may be that all you need to buy are appropriate cables.

Aha. I only have Freeview, and that can't broadcast HD due to bandwidth. So it'll just have to be a normal digital set-up for now. So what would be the best way for this please?

I guess with some sort of Scart to S-Video (S-video being component) cable. Check that its the right type, I.e. round connector on your monitor.

check your PM and I'll send you a link to what I'm on about. Sorry OC its a competitor site, but you dont sell them.... sooo.

Ok Ok * Hands up* I made a boo-boo. Although It would help if OC actually stocked the cable type I was on about wouldn't it ? Since you sell monitors with all sorts of inputs, why not sell the cables... then I woudnt have to post external links would I ? With respect, I'm not trying to promote competitors for the sake of a monitor cable, merely trying to help a fellow user out by inticating the type of cable they may require. I was going to ask the moderators to PM me, but I notice that this feature is not available.

oh well
