Anyone tried this? Thinking of grabbing a second 8800GTX and running them to power 2 x 24" Panels at 1900 res for gaming.

Is it possible to do this without SLI (afaik, SLI has only one output and can't support twinscreen)

You could either have one 8800GTX run both screens at 1900 res. Would run really slow though.

Or have 2x8800GTX NOT in sli but the game wont run on both monitors so the second GTX would be a waste as it would be driving the desktop. So get a cheap £30 card to power the second screen maybe?

Think a set up like this is a bit wasted on Supcom (or FA) for example as all you will get on the 2nd screen is the mini-map IIRC.

Last time I tried in sup com I had to plug the second screen into the first card, FSX worked with the 2nd screen on the second card though.

presumably worth putting an sli bridge on them too so you can run single screen games sli and then turn sli off in the nvidia panel when you want to run dual screeen

I have 800gtxs setup trisli with two monitors running off two cards when not in sli - haven't tried to game with two screens yet though
