Hi Guys,

Please can someone point me in the right direction I currently have the Tagan Easycon XL 700W PSU which I bought like 6 months ago which is a very nice piece of kit. But I just found out that it will only have a maximum of 2 pci-e cables for it whic h i am using to power my 8800 Ultra Extreme and therefore cannot add a second card for sli which I will need an extra 2 pci-e cables for the 2nd ultra.

Now this thing cost me well over £100 which wasnt cheap but looks like I need another psu for sli even though this was sli ready as in 2 pci-e connectors.

Can someone please point me in the right direction as to what psu I will need one that you guys have already had experience with etc.

I currently have overclock Q6600 to 3.6ghz 6 SATA devices (which include HDD and cd/dvd drives)and 1 8800 ultra extreme and looking to add a 2nd.

regards

Franco

Keep what you have and get a couple of molex to pci-e converters. Out of stock here but are widely available.

exactly what i was going to say . you can pick them up for about £3 a pop. though whether they will work properly with an 8800gtx in sli i dont know. ive ran a 7800gt off them and it was fine but your card needs a lot more juice

Should you need more juice the ThermalTake Tough Power PSUs have 3x6-pin+3x8-pin.

I dont think you can use converters when powering the 8800 ultra? as I think before i tried to change the molex to pci before but that was on a shared rail on another non sli psu so will it work with this powering 2x 8800 ultra's ?
