I see the verdict is in, and the jury have come to the conclusion that Diana and Dodi were unlawfully killed by Henry Paul and the Paparazzi.

I don't think that there could be any other conclusion really myself.

Be interesting to see what (if anything) happens to the Paps now....

I wonder if anyone is going to prison, either way it doesn't really matter.

I hope this can all be left under the bridge, so to speak. I just hope it's not appealed umpteen times, it's time they were left to rest.

You know what they keep forget to mention.

The bodyguard who survived the accident was the only one wearing the seatbelt. I remember this fact in the very early reports but never mentioned since. Not saying that the driver didn't do anything wrong or the paparazzi are saints but there must be some contributary negligence on Diana and Dodi's part.

According to the BBC the jury acknowledged the lack of seat-belts as a contributory factor.

Yeah just let it go, and you Mr Alfyed (sp?), we all know the Royal family had her killed, but theres nowt anyone can do about it, so let them rest in peace.

The problem with suggesting that Diana and Dodi were killed on purpose is that you are leaving a lot to chance hoping that the crash will kill them.

If you think about lots of other assaninations they are normally executed with more certain methods, shooting, poisoning or bombing etc.

Yes it would be very easy to cause a crash, but to guarentee that crash would kill them is a very difficult thing to do.

The conspiricy theorists latch onto the fact that the driver may or may not have been on the payroll of MI5 along with the fact that various other agencies had been monitoring Diana. On top of that you have the white Fiat Uno that was "found" which had been repainted and a photographer who may have commited suicide yet a paramedic is certain he saw two bullet wounds.

I don't know what other conclusion they expected to get to. I hope this is the end of it now.

And that still wouldn't explain why the driver should wish to commit suicide by driving into a pillar of the tunnel, I don't care how much money you are paying me, it doesn't sound like a good option to me.

I've got to admit that I didn't really care about the trial or any of the circus surrounding the deaths but Mr Al-Fayed certainly brightened up proceedings with his entertainingly deluded rants - he almost made up for the fact that Prince Philip hasn't been on sterling form recently.
