CC Tubes, pink not red. Can I?

Guys

I bought some cold cathode tubes for the inside of my new case (Cosmos S), Unfortunately they look more pink than red. Is there any kind of film or plastic sheeting i could get to make them more.. well red?

you could try using lighting gels they tend ti come in quite large sheets but can easily b cut to size. not sure how the styling woud look though cos it just like wrapping plastic round them
most good photography stores should stock them

Ah ok thanks, I had a rough idea of what i was looking for but had no idea what it was called. I'll pop into town and have a look for lighting gel then.

Failing that try a florest, they should have like red clear plastic stuff you can buy.

Any art shop. Acetate or red coloured film. Hell, eat some roses and save the red wrappers.

You could also trya translucent red paint, I was gonna do the same with some red cathodes of my own, but I've decided to not use cathodes anymore after seeing the damage a cathode inverter had done one time :eek:

. I'm using LEDs only now (currently only LED fans), I've built a blue LED array light that's pretty bright, but I've yet to put it in my case, works out cheaper than cathodes too, if anyone's interested I could post some pics up of it later.

Red nail varnish works on car bulbs. Might work on cathodes too. Dims it though. I did my boot bulb red like that.

Im also looking for a darker red lighting solution but have not yet found any that do not look pink. I would like to find some red neon string but the only stuff I have found so far is the Optx® By StreetGlow stuff which Im not sure I can actually use in a computer.

be careful though these things can get hot, check to make sure its not going to just melt

i use cathodes and they have been fine for nearly a year now (the oldest one) . dont really get that hot (well the akasa ones anyway.)

Unfortunently akasa dont to a red version

The only red stuff I have found is the Optx stuff which Im not sure works in a pc or not.

In loads of colours , i even managed to get Purple.
