How much do you typically spend on a night out pubbing\clubbing?

I'm sure many of the people who work in the city will echo my claim. Many of the nicer venues will charge this for relatively normal drinks, and I've been charged £9 for a double JD and coke in a total dump before now.

The trouble with the city is it's so pretentious. People want to be seen to have money and so they will buy expensive drinks regardless of whether it's justifiable. This then causes the bars to raise their prices, and people just start paying even more!I've had one pint of Stella in my life, and that was only because I was letting someone have the honour of pouring it!

Yep, totally agree. Not personally a fan of drinking in London. Tend to avoid it if possible (unless work are paying of course). Thing is, you go out after work and you are expected to buy a round, this can easily come to £50-£60 for 6 or so people. Does get very expensive.

On a normal night out locally, normally spend around £80-100 after a taxi. Depends where I am going etc and if I am out to get ruined or not ;)

These threads do make me laugh. Really does show how some of the OcUK community have no idea about the outside world :)

All depends where I am and who im with. used to spend A LOT in uni thanks to none alcohol nights ;) (do you need me to paint a picture?) Now, 35 quid average night

£70 spent out in Manchester on Sat. £16 was on Black Cab home tho. Think it was caused by buying too many rounds tbh but nevermind I got well and truly mashed. I think I'm getting a bit old for pubs with loud music now tho. Give me a "real english pub" anyday.:(

Went out with the gf on Saturday to celebrate our 4 year anniversary. Between us we spent about £350. That included a meal out at Gauchos (£90 roughly), a taxi home (£25) and going to two clubs (£40)

Took my mrs to Gaucho for her birthday (which happens to be on Valentines day!). Very nice, also been twice before with work. One of my favourite places to eat.

Em? ...yes?

You weren't picking up hookers were you?

EDIT: OK OK I get you now.

The drinks were more expensive than beer of course! :D But seriously, no more than £50 on a night out. Spent £20 on 4 drinks the other night in prague which seemed a lot considering the cheapness of the place

Indeed. :)

Also remember when people are quoting £50 on booze thats not always 5 crates to the cheapest/strongest budget larger to get hammered, if you're out in town and drinking wine then that could easily be anything from £10 right up to hundreds (if not more) so even without getting plastered you could be spending big bucks.

At the end of the day it's peoples choice to spend their money on what they want/enjoy. All those who are saying it's a waste, what do you spend your hard earned on? Do you think every single person here would agree/approve of your spending/hobbies?

Wondering how much we all spend on a night out on the town, if it be a club or pub.. including that amazing tasting kebab/burger on the walk home :D

With me around £40 locally down the pub. Around £60 when out at the town in the bars/clubs, in London pfff.. have to hold back a lot and sip the drinks.

Depends whether or not we go down the local pole dancing club :D

Generally though I'd say about £40.

£11 for a double vodka redbull in Umbaba. :/

And this is why I chose to go up to Manchester for uni.

The most I have ever spent was about £40. This covered the cost of entry, 13 JD+cokes and a healthy meal of donner meat + chips after. If I am planning to go anywhere expensive, I will just not drink much or drink before I go. I don't like being drunk to the point of sickness anyway.

I spend approx £60 on a night that I am drinking in town. The £15 taxi ride back is the killer, I would feel like an idiot spending any more than £60, sounds like there are some very rich and/or very stupid people on this forum.

People who find it difficult that people spend hundreds in clubs obviously haven't experienced London clubbing. I've organised many a table with spends well into 4 figures and usually put on expenses as they are entertaining clients.
