Hey guys, contact runs out very soon with 02 online £25, 200mins 500text (something like that) anyway i have a k800i at the moment and thining of replacing with the LG viewty. Ive seen it around, heard reviews of it being big, however its thinner than my current phone so thats not a problem.

Whats it like to live with? Ive see it has a qwerty keyboard for texting HOWEVER can you set it to how a normal phone is laid out for texting? Hows the battery life and just in general whats it like to live with?

Finally what contract are you on, do you use the internet a lot?

p.s the most important question, black or silver ;)?

Had mine for a few months now...best phone I've ever had without doubt. Can text input in normal phone mode with t9 predictive no problem.

One very happy viewty owner.

:D

Its alright if you look after it. I reccomend buying a MArtin Feild screen protector for it. One of the best for the phone without a doubt.

Yes you can.

The battery life isnt all that great. Lasts about a day with intensive usage.. camera/music player/video etc.

I'm on Pay as you go. Got it for around £180

Black ;)

I just picked one up last week, in black but I think Id have preferred silver but didnt get a choice. Texting is suprisingly good as you can just set it to standard T9 and the buttons appear as a nice size, Id even go as far as say its better than a standard phone for texting.

Unlocked mine before I headed away for the weekend, need to debrand and then sort out some themes and applications this week before I can give a proper opinion. Well happy with it so far, and Im someone whos very picky with phones and generally sticks with Sony Ericsson or Nokia.

I hate mine with a passion to be honest, id get something else, battery life is terrible, the camera is useless despite it having everything in the right place (the k800i takes far better pictures), the 120fps video feature is nothing more than a gimick and is very rarely useful or produces good results, if you have even slightly large fingers texting is hopeless, i could go on... im getting an iphone ive had enough...

yup after months of trying to like mine i want it gone. you cannot use your thumbs to text and pointing with a finger may look easy in videos but in real life use its rubbish

I've got pretty big hands and find it ok for texting, was suprised with the Qwerty key pads ability not to register about 3 letters when i press.

The camera is very good to but the proper flash uses up the battery a LOT

The iphone is so much worse for texting its unreal, make sure you test drive one first as I couldnt put a legible sentence together.

Edit - Just realised you also mentioned the camera quality and video on it too, you do realise the iphone has a bit of a pants camera and no video? Im not saying stick with the LG if you dont like it, but maybe the iphone isnt the answer here either. Think you need to work out what you actually want from a phone before you go buying another.

With the qwert setting I can type with both thumbs with ease and I wouldn’t say I have the smallest hands.
The camera is very poor to say it was marketed as a camera phone. I was just using the video feature today at snooker and tbh I was very impressed with the quality of the results.

Video is great I used it for fireworks at new year.very clear and little distortion. Pictures its quite good, will give it a few goes with qwerty

it takes a bit of getting used to the qwert. I always used to mistype. After sticking to it and getting the hang of it i very rarely mistype nowerdays. Its just getting used to where you press the 'key' i guess.

i did have a go with one in the shop the other day, it seemed ok but not as easy to use as i thought it would be. Is it possible to text at speed?

I can text relevtly fast with the viewty. Texting speed is almost the same speed with the Viewty dial pad as it is with a phone.

i think i may as wel get one then!

Can you recommend any programs to download for it? I currently with £25 a month and was going to buy the £7.50 02 web unlimited bolt on, however i may as well just ay the £35 and get the extra texts/minutes and unlimited web all in one. Is the current online brower good or are there better?

Finall i read somewhere i should get silver because it has a better scroll function than the black? Even though the black looks better is it still worth going for silver due to this problem?

Yea i thought someone mite point that out, which at first may seem obvious but for me the camera and the video features were supposadly the good points of the phone, neither of which are good at all, if i could have gone round taking quality pictures like i could with my k800i then it might have made up for its downfalls in other areas, as it is it just fails altogether.

Ive purchased an iphone 16gb now, the gui is absolutely brilliant, and the first text i ever sent on that i typed in half the time i ever managed to write one on the viewty...
