First tattoo at 40

My wife bought me a Tattoo for my 40th as I've always been harking on about it but never got round to it.

I had the outline done a month back. I was a bit dissappointed as it looks lifeless.

However, last week I went back for the shading and colour and I'm really pleased with the result:

The second session was really painfull as he had to go over the same spots a number of times. It's only the next day so looks a bit red and sore in places. The Yellow will come out once it's healed.

Just a quick question they look like Hi Utsuri Koi, is one supposed to be a tancho with the marking on its head (the one facing down)?

Taken from a book but I guess you could be right. The one facing down has a red circle on the head possibly making it a Tancho. A Hi Utsuri is usally black and Red, very distrinctive.

My guess is that they are either Aka bekko which are commonly red with black markings or Utsurimono, which are same but with yellow.

Hard to tell.

Looks like Usurimono more now that u mention it. To be honest it looks pike its in an awkward Plaice, and is gonna be sore for a whale.
