EA announces UK Release Date for Rock Band - Timed Exclusive for Xbox 360!

Wonder how much it will be? Some reports of it being 180 euros/ pounds seem way to high for me, I can get it now for £169 delivered for the PS3 from the US. I wonder how much the 3 months or so exclusive deal cost Microsoft lol, at least the delay for the PS3 till summer is better than the Autumn date mentioned last week. Anyone know if the 360 version will only have the wired Guitar in the box and wireless to buy separate?
 
Perhaps more disappointing is the price: unlike the US, which received a Special Edition that includes the game, a Fender Strat guitar, the drum kit and a mic, all for $169 – Europe will only get an Instrument Edition priced £129.99 / 169 Euros, including the three peripherals but not the game – which, bought separately, will set you back £49.99 / 69.99 Euros. So, if you want the proper Rock Band experience, the minimum you're going to have to shell out is around £180 / 240 Euros.

EA has confirmed the price for Rock Band, following the European date announcement this morning.

Europe, unlike the US, will not get all of the instruments bundled together with the game.

Instead, you will have to fork out for an Instrument Edition at GBP 129.99 / EUR 169 - comprised of the drum kit, guitar and microphone - then buy the game separately for GBP 49.99 / EUR 69.99.

Anyone after the whole lot will be looking at a total of GBP 180 / EUR 240, then. That's rather more than in the US, where you can buy the game and all the instruments for USD 169 - equivalent to around GBP 85 / EUR 107.

Wireless guitars will be sold separately for GBP 59.99 / EUR 79.99, while the drum kit will be GBP 69.99 / EUR 89.99.

Hopefully retailers will be offering their own bundles.

Rock Band will be out in Europe exclusively for Xbox 360 on 23rd May. PS3, PS2 and Wii versions will follow later this summer.

Edit lol just beaten, but if PS3 owners want it if you scan the internet theres a UK based retailer that has the whole bundle in stock for £170 inc delivery

There is no way I am paying £180 for it. Not a chance. I want the instruments and the game and I want it for < £150.
 
I kinda expected it to be this much really :(

Does anyone else think it'll be fun trying to sing French and German songs though :D
 
I am absolutely totally enranged.

I've been waiting for this game since the first rumors of it appeared on the internet. I feel completely and utterly screwed over. For one, I have to wait even longer now that 360 has a timed exclusive, and two, I could have imported the god damn game for almost half the ****** price back in september, but I chose to hold on.

I am so angry right now. :mad:
 
£180 for the lot?!!

I was expecting £149.99 kinda pricing for the whole lot which I could understand but £180 is too much.


But still YEYEYEYEYEYEYYEY IT'S OUT SOON :D

I'll be getting it anyway probably.
 
I could buy a Wii for that price and get much more out of it!!

Thats unacceptable, especially as the US get the whole thing for £80, they are trying to charge us £100 more for the same kit.

I was waiting for this and never bothered buying GH3 because of it. Now I am seriously regretting that decision!

The full bundle costs more than the xbox360 console you will play it on!! A UK website I use has the prices up as 149.99 for PS2/PS3/360 versions, but they said the price and bundle contents were subject to change, which struck me as strange, which makes perfect sense now.
