*** The Official G92 8800GTS 512 Overclocking Thread ***

highest ive managed on my gainward is 796/1094/2039 stock cooling, runs 3dmark 06 ok but havent tested those clocks in games.

My contribution, only got the card yesterday so its my first play with it, its a Club 8800GTS stock, stock cooling used. Q6600 is @ stock atm so no 3d mark yet :D

Running 750 Core 1900 Shader 2200 Mem on my BFG 8800GTS OC stock cooling @ 45% fan.

Could prolly get higher if I crank the fan up but I prefer to run the card silent.

Might look into a HR-03 and a nice quiet 92mm fan tho :D

Is it possible to bios flash the 8800GTS to give more GPU voltage?

I remember way back when that it was possible to eek out annother 0.05V on the GT's with a bios flash.

Yup fornowagain is right, it can be beneficial to flash a GT with a GTS bios giving you an increase in GPU voltage as you know, but no way of soft modding the GTS. Im not sure if NiBiTor can Editor NV's G92 BIOS 's but then again I dont recommend going messing about with a bios editor if you’re unsure. I very nearly killed my old 6800GT a few years back trying to modify its bios vid values.

They do seem to respond well to an increase in gpu voltage (memory is hopeless regardless of voltage), but I would recommend getting a much much better cooling solution 1st thought, but you probably already know that :)

Hi

Going to use rivatuner & ATI tool to see how far i can push it (my 8800gts g92), but still run games stable. Not had any experience with ATI tool, so just wondering how results translate to actual gameplay stability, and if a certain number of ati tool artifacts can still mean the clock will be ok for games?.

Any amount of ATI Tool artifacts should instantly make you slow down the clocks - run it through some Crysis and Vantage loops and look for artifacts. Ati Tool is usually perfectly fine for me, but i have had cases where i had artifacts in Vantage and where Folding@Home crashed even though it was stable in ATI Tool :)
