EA announces UK Release Date for Rock Band - Timed Exclusive for Xbox 360!

I'm off to the states for work on Saturday and was considering picking up a copy of the game with all the instruments as I have a USA console. Problem is, the box is massive and it weighs about 15kg so bringing it back on the plane is a bit tricky. I did consider shipping it back to myself via Fedex or similar but the quoted shipping costs are crazy.

I think I'll just buy it from an auction site.
 
Not a chance that I'll be spending that much, wouldnt pay over £100 and to be honest I doubt Id pay even that much.

At that price tag, its more expensive than an actual 360. Shocking.
 
Disgusting really. This was my most anticipated game, but really don't think I'll bother now.
 
You can get a premium + GTA IV for £190.

Quite annoyed now, me and two friends were really looking forward to it, I was on bass :(

Ah well, loads of people will still buy it, shame really.
 
Its gonna bomb at this price ... few hardcore buyers and then it will sink.

Which might help its price come down quicker, this exclusive news has been known for a few days now and still don't understand why 360 owners are so happy about it.

It ain't going to make the game any better for the machine than if it came out for the PS3 at the same time ...... suppose it helps to expose who the fanboys really are.

I am not bothered because for that price I ain't buying for any console.

Total rip off, well done EA ! you have truly figured out how to screw us consumers for money this generation.

I actually think at that price point it'll flop. People i know who own guitar hero considered it an expensive luxury purchase and that was only £60. When you're looking at doubling the cost of your console for one game i really think only huge enthusiasts will bother - i can't say my parents would have EVER spent that much money on a game for me when i was little and i know i'll never spend that much myself.

[EDIT] as a side note, the European exclusivity really nibbles my nuggin. We KNOW it's finished and ready to ship for the PS3 as it's already out abroad, yet due to huge quantities of money changing hands between companies, it's been deliberately held back. I know this happens very often with games, but never have i seen it available somewhere else in the world, but deliberately held back elsewhere. Is the 360 version even out in America?

Just buy a stand alone controller over here and take it back for a refund, say you want your money back cos the product sucks.
Or just take the hit when u buy the stand alone controller, either way, cheaper than shipping it back.
 
EA will keep the high price, see how many people buy it like suckers for a high price, then reduce the price later, in essence it's just pushing the "real" release date if you think about at it carefully
 
How much is the DLC gonna be? Someone said it was bad on the RB forums, but i couldn't see the price? Surely it will be the same amount of MS points as the NA version?
The DLC pricing is spot on in the US imo. $1.99 for 1 song or $5.49 for three.

You can't get refunds just because 'the product sucks'.

180MS points on XBL. PS3 I imagine it will be straight 2:1 currency conversion, like most stuff on PSN.

So the price is the same in points terms, but points cost more here.

Anyone importing be wary I think Metalface Mark got hit with some horrendous amount of customs tax/VAT, was ps3 version but I aimgine boxes are the same size. (Unsurprising as the box is huuuuuuuuge!)
