No no no mate your missing the point I feel.

My little girl (11) unfortunately likes the Babyshambles, its increasingly hard for me to try to convince her of the evils of hard drugs when her idol blatantly lives the "Pop star lifestyle" i.e. he takes hard drugs.

Whilst I have no proof, I'd find it hard to imagine that some of his teeny fans or younger have not decided to emulate his actions as he is their idol.

And for that, I'd happily shoot the *******.

How is it hard to point out the bad about doing drugs, Surely you can use Pete as The Perfect example.
He had everything, Top Model Doris, His band, Money & fame, Now look at him. Anybody can see this lad has Serious issues & anybody that wants to be like him must Also have serious issues.
Straight people will Never understand.
 
At last. I know it's not like he's mugging old women, but he will be influencing people who see him as an idol into taking drugs and these people will be the ones mugging old women for money to buy more drugs.

But don't get me wrong, I don't like druggies.

But keep the space in prisons open for the silly amount of real criminals that get away with all sorts of rubbish all the time.

Come on, I think you see my point.

He takes drugs he's in a position of responsibility as he's worshipped by people who don't know better in the main and up until now, he's stuck two fingers up at the law.

I doubt my 11 year old has any serious issues that a bit more maturity gained with age won't sort out.

Not quite.

A dead dog makes a sort of rythmic thump as you kick it down the stairs. I doubt Doherty could even manage that...

I see your point R124 but you don't see my point.
People that go on to do Heroin will do no matter what the influences around them whether good or bad. People that do heroin have underlying issues of which straight people cannot understand.
Heroin & it's usage is a World apart from anything you will ever know or would want to know. Blaming Pete for kids going on to do drugs is straight out of the Sun mate & is Exactly the same as saying some kid killed people because he played a video game.
It really is ridiculous to think that somebody would do Heroin because a pop star they liked did it & it's even more ridiculous to think Pete is any way an influence on anybody in the state that he is now in.
I would say he is more of an example on why Not to do drugs if anything, After all he lost Kate the woman he admittedly Loves & now he is in jail with all the convicts.
Exactly how the newspapers you obviously read would like.

I was thinking from the point of view of my 11 year old, not mature adults who can weigh up the pro's & cons of such things tbh mate.

Now that he's in prison, I doubt she will tear down all of her posters of the moron, however much I'd like that!

I do know quite abit about the gard drugs scene, a bit too much tbh, and what I see of it truly scares me. I am happy that I won't ever end up like Doherty.

Trouble is, kids look up to the likes of him and thats what worrys me.

Believe it or not, I don't buy newspapers - I listen to the radio & have the internet for up to date news. :)

Anyways, I think I get your point mate as you do mine. :)
 
Pete Dochertys in jail cos hes a famous junkie and thats about it.

Must make an example of him. Harsh tbh.

Personally those that call him talentless should simmer down until they have had some of the success he has had.
