It's a pretty raw deal and I think there should be a set rule as speeding evidence is pretty substantial to be honest so we should have a set system of fine/points and bans.

How do we know it wasn't as reported? I don't follow the media in terms of News and Newspapers so have no idea what gets reported bar what we're linked to on here. Yes it seems sensational but sillier things have happened.

As for the guy caught doing in excess of double the speed limit tbh I think this should be a instant ban regardless of situation / religion etc. 40mph in a 30mph I can just about understand but 60+?!
 
Pfff not all 30 zones have people walkign near it, I know enough places where you have to drive 30 ish mph ( 50 kph) but it's a dual lane road with no pedestrian area anywhere near ( or any otehr obstacles liek bends or anything) and they are onyl so slow coz it's in a city. Cars are more important than peds anyways.

Rubbish imo, raise speed limit by 20 mph everywhere.

When somone drives 50 kph too fast than the limit here he/she gets caught and loses the licence at least for a week whatever the case is, then the officer of justice decides wether to give it back. But no matter who you are, even if it was pope or prime minister they'd lose their licence no matter what reason you give for your speeding. This muslim with 2 wives should too.


EDIT 2: I realize this post is stupid, and I didn't really read the article properly when replied, ignore it, nothing to do with racism or whatever.

Try reading the article carefully snowdog, he kept his license because of his job, something that happens hundreds of times per day but OMG THIS ONE WUZ A MUZLIM.
 
Who cares about his job, I'm saying no matter the job, even if you're a taxi driver or whatever, you should always lose your licence, or at least that's what happens here.

And if you have no or very few serious offences anybody gets it back within 10 days.
Regardless if he/she needs it for his/her job.

If they have more seriuous offences or lost their licence b4, it means usually you lose it for 190 days or so.

You said "Aint it discrimination to the British people, as they do lose their licence?" - No, 'British people' (including muslims, christians, athiests) keep their licence every day for this kind of speed, some lose their licences too. It just depends how well you present your case in court and who decides on the day. You win some, you lose some.

I wouldn't disagree with your above post at all, but it's a completely different one to your previous effort.
 
Ah okay, sorry I need to re-learn to read as I've been a bit less active on forums than usual in the past few weeks...

Odd though imo that people, no matter wich, keep their licence coz of their jobs.
They should have thought better about the possible consequences of losing their licence when they put their foot down. In the end it'd be their own fault for losing their licence and their possibility of workin.

Driving between 2 restaurants isn't a reason to keep your licence though imo: Get a driver I'd say to the guy till he gets back his own licence, he shouldn't have been so stupid.

I think that people need to realise that a 28-day ban isn't the same level of punishment for everybody, nor is a £1000 fine (for example).

To me, a £1000 fine would be catastrophic and so would be a HUGE punishment. A £1000 fine to a Premiership footballer would be a drop in the ocean. A 28 day driving ban to a businessman that relies on his car in order to make a living is a far larger punishment than a driving ban given to a student.

Thats before we get into the whole Daily Mail reporting style nonsense. The article in the OP is a joke, the "pitchfork" replies are a joke and as a result, this thread is by and large a joke.
 
Ban him = Judge seen as Racist
Dont Ban him = Judge seen as bad Judge

Wether its just the law or not, doing anything to another race will always be seen by some as racist, the Judge probubly just went for the one he was worried less about.

He did face the consequences regardless of race, he also got let off regardless of race. He only appeared in the Daily Mail because of his religion.
