Hi guys, Im here in the hope someone (or more than one person) can help me.

A friend at work has opened a little can of beans with me today in that he is looking to get a new digital camera, basically I need to do my best to show him the basics of photography and how certain things can affect a photo.

I have a few of my own from years gone by to demonstrate DOF and different shutter speeds but these are all relatively low quality (5mp camera)

I want to show him the possibilities of a mid range SLR type camera. He wants to try getting some more professional looking shots when he goes to watch his favourite team play football.

I just want to ask anyone with some "WOW" shots to upload them (with a link to full size if poss) to show what can be done, also something showing immense detail too would be great.

A bit of a mish mash of a request I know but anything really will be great.

Thanks a lot in advance :)

It's more in the photographer than the camera to get good shots.

But.....not mine, you can't do this with a P&S.

try places like fredmiranda and pbase etc for sample shots and dpreview for reviews with sample shots.

very true. it's easier to take bad shots with an SLR as well.

Quite true if you flick it into one of the manual modes it's real easy to take some absolute stinkers! However I would say that an SLR on full Auto will take better pictures than 99% of compacts on full auto.

full auto? I don't think mine has that setting

*checks manual.. oh yeah there it is!*

:p
