Hey folks can someone give me some advice please I'm looking for a new motherboard that will allow me to stably overclock a Q6600 to 3.3Ghz and beyond. I will be using a Zalman 9700nt cooler and 2x2Gb 1066mhz dimms along with a single 8800 GTS (not that interested in SLI) backed up by an enermax galaxy 850w psu.
I'll also want the motherboard to be able to handle that latest yorkfield cpu's incase I decide to upgrade in 8-10months.
Don't want to spend more than £180 absolute max.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

A.

IMO, the best P35 mobo is either the Asus P5K-E/Premium (very good clockers), unless you want to spend silly money... then DFI/Maximus Formula

I've got my Q6600 to 3.6GHz with an Asus P5B-E. It will go more if it wasn't for my RAM!

The P5B is getting old now though so i'd definately go with the Asus P5K

Decided to go large and have bought an asus rampage formula! was tempted by the PCIE 2.0 support and extensive bios options, it arrives in the morn!!

My Asus P5K Premium pushed my Q6600 to 4ghz on air cooling, I didn't check if it was stable (half an hour on UT3 doesn't count anyway). I clocked it back down because to be honest I don't see the point and it was running too hot for my liking but it is certainly a capable clocker :).
