any normal person would have been locked up ages ago

Every time there's a thread about this guy or any other celebrity junkie, the same old nonsense gets dusted off and aired.

In my home town, it's not uncommon for junkies to appear in court half a dozen times for drugs related offences before finally being given a custodial sentence. I realise different areas have different ways of dealing with these issues but I don't think the argument that his celebrity status affords him some sort of semi-immunity from doing time really holds much water.
