as title says....

now i got my Q6600 gaming rig im looking to buy some new games for it :D

i mainly like online FPS's

i already have/tryed:
UT3
Bioshock
Crysis
GOW

thinking about buying COD4 to play online, and am wondering if; Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is any good????

any suggestions????
im looking for FPS's but feel free to recommend others; maybe a good RPG (im very fussy on these) something 'like' diablo II would be nice... maybe guild wars if thats any good?

for FPS i would like something thats recent and demanding for my system :D
other game types not too fussed on what spec it needs i just want gameplay there

Team Fortress 2 is awesome online.

Playing Crysis now. Its OK but pretty mindless.

Bioshock I really liked but don't feel the need to play through it again for a while.

STALKER is excellent.

COD4 is next on my list. Don't play RPGs and only RTS I enjoy playing is DoW

same here with bioshock, was really good to play through but took a long time to complete (which was good) but ill probly never play it again now LOL
same with most games really :)
too bad i completed these games i have on my old rig now iv only really got UT3 online to play atm :p

I think ET:QW is great - It's just like Wolf:ET but in a quake universe! Actually it's better than wolf ET because the two sides classes don't just mirror each other...great stuff.

I thought that ET:QW was much faster paced than the wolf version. I prefered the Wolf one actually, running around medicing is still fun.

Get CoD4.
Heard great stuff about TF2.

Didn't like stalker personally, and got bored 60% through Bioshock.
Crysis is a bit meh...

The Witcher is an excellent RPG but with uninvolving combat especially in later levels where it's click, walk away, make a cup of tea, come back, click, go watch something on telly....

Okay so it's not that bad but it is annoying with the longer combos.

Personally I found Call of Duty 4 insultingly short ~ 6 hours on Verteran or whatever setting it was and the online part gets boring in about the same length of time.

Really enjoyed Supreme Commander and World in Conflict though the latter is a bit short and also slightly uninvolving.

Also, I see you haven't mentioned Half Life 2 and although it's an old game it's excellent and a must buy.

Although CoD4 sp is short though, and the mp gets boring after 100-200 hours of playing (just an estimate, I still love it), you can't ignore its a great game and a must have experienced game tbh.

But then again as is halflife2, wich takes bout 15-20 when including ep 1 and 2.

And I agree, if you're open to other than fps, then get CoH and Supreme commander: Forged alliance ( forget the original, the expansion is a standalone).
Found WiC a bit boring.

If you havent tried the hl2 series: Get hl2, all 3 games...
Then get CoD4, altho the sp is very short, it's still an awesome experience.
The mp can keep u amused for hundreds of hours but I doubt it'll get boring for anyone in less than 40 hours... ( I've played more and only don't play it atm coz I can't atm due to only having UMTS and no Adsl till the 23rd)

And if you're open to RTS get CoH, or if you're an experienced RTS played wich likes em, get Supcom:FA instead.

I've been stuck to TF2 since it was released. However been playing COD4 solid for past month. I think it works really well MP online. So i'd also recommend getting COD4.

must have are:

cod4 , crysis , cs:s , tf:2 , bioshock(i need to get it), ut3, i guess those are major fps at the moment

You have tried some good ones, but need to check out

COD4 and TF2 if you like online then these are a must (only bad thing I can say is lack of maps)

STALKER is also very good single player, but online was dissapointing (not much activity, at least back when I was playing it) I will get Clear Skies since not much coming out on PC

I tried the Quake demo, it was good, not great. But I think it never took off online with community which basically killed it.

PS - Bioshock was really cool universe and worth checking out, but honestly the shooting aspect was definetly not good compared to other games mentioned - I basically used the wrench and ice plasmid throughout game (and the occasional RPG for Big Daddies and Boss)

I had the same opinion about ET:QW after playing the demo for a bit, but I pickied up the game cheap last month, and im loving it. There are quite a few servers that are always busy (even during the day:eek:), and it makes a nice change from the other, smaller, fps games around. Nice big maps. Buy it:D

the q6600 is a really good cpu but are you using the x1950 in your sig? Thats going to hold it back quite a lot. I finished bioshock on an x1950pro @ 1290x1024 and it just gets away with it but is quite slow in places

Lack of maps on TF2? wut?

Although TF2 has more maps than COD4, there are not many maps; considering the game has been around for a few months now on a code that is really familiar with community. Heck I have seen more mods using Source then custom maps for TF2.

Hopefully the new COD4 maps on XLive will be made available to PC shortly.

True that, especially when you the see the price of 8800GTX on this site, I don't care what anyone says at that price better than a 8800GT - I may just get a second one :)

Well, we have about 20 maps on our server, which is enough i think. But it does no good, people always vote for Dustbowl

That is because a lot of maps are like platform games ie use demo guys and jump on platforms. Although a nice idea, this is not why I like TF2, I too would rather play Dustbowl :), but after playing it so much on same maps you get a bit bored
