Seems to be the norm nowadays. Just today i'm just standing patiently in line at the bakers and two women dont bother with the queue; they just go up to the counter and of course they get served first.

Of course i could say quite loudly " oh hey theres a queue here" but really should i have to? NO....

simple things... courtesy doesn't cost anything... i find it lacking in a lot of people....

Depends how you were brought up, i dont want to get into a "class" discussion so i wont say much more, but i try never to be rude, its just the way i am, i cant see someone holding a box trying to open a door without going over to help them out.

No Swearing! are everywhere. Aslong as you practice common courtesy yourself then its all good.

a lot of my customers at work can be rude. I think its because they think i dont know what im doing as im only 20 and the rest of the staff are a lot older.

i had a guy on the phone the other day who wanted to speak to another member of staff, when i asked who was speaking he responded very rudely saying "why, my name is of absolutely no relevance to him at all", so i said "i do understand that but i do have to give a name of who he is going to speak to" he then proceeded to shout at me his name, patronisingly spelling it for me too!

i was fuming, whats the point in that. people are rude all the time i just dont get why they have to be. When you get it in your job its hard to keep being nice to them if all you're getting bk from them is blatant arrogance.

I get that ^ all the time at work, mainly because the people that phone here are absolute snobs and when I have to ask them their name they just go,
"I do not know you, therefore I do not want to give you my name."
"Err...ok...can I have your surname at least?"
"*SIGH* MRS *****"
I dont care what your name is! im just doing my job! Id love to be able to say that.

I always come across rude people, it annoys me so much when people dont even bother to say please or thankyou, I hate it!

I don't meet a lot of outwardly rude people, but there's a fair bit of subtleness about college. In general though, the people I meet are pretty nice.

bloody indian man brings all his kids into barbers earlier and lets them run riot which nearly ended up in me having scissors stuck in my head... he kept shouting at them etc and being a complete nob, give them some love and they might behave?
He was rude letting them run riot and then making everyone listen to him shout and yell at em when he was trying to do something.

Knowing me id have said quite loudly so he could hear " dave ( or what ever your other staff member is called ) mr "of absolutely no relevance" is on the phone for you! :p

one thing i do hate it when bank staff call me by my first name...as if they are my pal or something.... wtf. Must be new bank policy

99% of the time people are not rude over here :D and most of the time people seem to be super impressed that I'm English and want to chat with me - easy!

I find old people are buggers for that in shops. When I worked at the bakers, we had a lot of old people coming up and "queue jumping". We used to tell them to get back of the queue or else they will not get served.

I have lots of days where I dont experience rude people, but it just depends how you spend your day's I would imagine. As I would expect someone who deals with lots of members of the public such as a cashier in a supermarket to experience more rude people than someone who never talks to strangers much.
