Hey OcUk posters!

I'm very soon getting a 8800GTX, however, It says they reccomend a 600W+ Power supply,
I used a site the other day to tell me how many watts i use on full load with a GTX and it'd be 380ish... So do i really need a 600W+ PSU? Currently i have Corsair's HX520W Modular PSU: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-005-CS&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1084

I saw in a thread the other week that this PSU is powerful enough, but i'm unsure if it has the correct connectors...

Thanks in advance,
Combusted.

Well if you used a couple of molex to PCIE power adapters yes you could theoretically, but I'd be concerned they'd be a bit starved of juice. What's the rest of your set up?

Ah ok, Thanks for all your replies.

Also another question on near enough the same thing, however whether it's for here or monitor forum i'm unsure.

I'm running two monitors at the moment, and when i get the GTX, Would it be possible to put the 7600GT into the second PCI slot and put one of the monitor cables into that card?
First off i don't know if i can have two different cards in seperate PCI's, but if i can, and this works, would this mean the second screen would run only on the 7600GT?
As in, i can play the main screen on Crysis and it won't slow down form whats on the other screen? :p excluding RAM etc.

Hmm. I think it's possible to do that, but it's not something I'm particularly familiar with. So I won't say anything for certain. Worst you can do is try!

It is possible, and in fact i'm using that exact combo right now, 8800GTX and 7600GT.

HX520w powering system in sig :)

No problems what so ever. 8800GTX + 7600GT will work fine, I used to have my old 7600GT for running extra screens. :)
