Midweek Football 8th-10th April ***Spoilers***

Is Messi likely to play? He's been injured for a while. Barca without Messi is like United without Ronaldo.

Like tonight? Like against Arsenal in the cup? Like against you at home last season?

Messi is apparantly on course for the semi according to rumour.

In a strange way i'd have thought being at home in the first leg may have suited you better.

Barca have got to be favourites for the first leg and you won't want to go into the 2nd leg chasing the game and leaving big gaps for Messi, Henry etc. Had you been at home first and got the lead (which you'd have been favourites to do) then Barca would have had the problem of chasing the game and risking you picking them off on the break.

just got to go there and give 100%. i think we're strong enough to beat them but they're very dangerous. Just hope we see some good games of football.

He's right though, there is no way Man U would be in the position they are in without Ronaldo. No shame in admitting it ;)

We might go there and win though.

My point was that Barca wouldn't go to OT and play for a draw and try and win it in the 2nd leg, they'd have played their usual game and you could have picked them off and had the luxury of playing them on the break in the 2nd leg.

Basically i couldn't see Barca winning the first leg had it been at OT (unless you were very poor up front) and you could have pick them off in the 2nd leg, where as if they get a lead in Spain and you have to take the game to them then they make pick you off on the break.

Like you say you could very well win over their but it's more likely that they'd bring a lead over with them for the 2nd leg. It's all ifs and buts, but in open attacking games i think playing at home first is better.

Thats if messi's back and Barcelona are playing ***** atm, and without puyol, its looking good for us, :) cant wait

sorry but at no point did i feel particularly threatened by them, maybe if they'd have scored the penalty but lets be fair it was a very soft penalty. We won't play that way against Arsenal because we played tonights game with Sundays game in mind.

That is because they are rubbish. It wasn't that Roma were craving UTD up, its just that utd were playing very open- around a 1/2 hour in.

No I know, but as a team we're not much different with Ronaldo not playing. We generally play the same way except Ronaldo is more of a threat on goal. But as I've said before we generally miss Rooney more than Ronaldo.

Im not 100% sure on that Baz. I was flicking through the games tonight and Schalke along with Fenerbache were considered the weakest side left in the CL. However I thought they looked really good tonight. Made Barca look very ordinary. Out of Roma or Barca, I think Roma will have offered the greater test to us

you wouldn't exactly have much experience of that though would you :p

Excuse me? We reached the 100 goal mark before Arsenal and Chelsea did this season.

Hmm... not sure about that, Barca have 5 or 6 top class attacking players, Roma have.... 0? Maybe 1 if you count Totti. And he didn't even play in the second leg.

Edit: or in the first leg for that matter :p

Yeh i agree, barca have been poor this season, in the league as well as the champions league.

But mind you, Who would you be me careful and most weary of, a world class team not on form, or a average team on form ?

They havnt been on form but are in finals ?

No chance. Roma don't have any outstanding individuals, Barca do. They could score out of nowhere during both legs regardless of how well they're playing.

look i'm sorry but you don't play open attacking football as much as Arsenal. wouldn't put chelsea in the 'being used to playing attacking open matches bracket either though.
