Tell me about: The M5 Ring Taxi

Well, as a nice surprise my parents have booked a motor home so its a family trip to Spa for the F1 in September. Weve got the motor home for a week so it will be a race weekend, drive around Belgium and Germany for a while, and do boring wine and beer stuff (for my parents) and go to the Ring (for me and my sisters). As much fun as ranting a 6 berth motorhome around the ring would be, Im tempted by a Ring Taxi. My GF is looking for a bday pressy for me... :)

So, tell me about it. how lon ahead am i needing to book (looked on the BMW site, all this weeks tickets are sold and I can only book times in April or May??). Needless to say its worth it, so is it 185 Euro a seat or a car? How does it work, have you done it, how was it?

Can't really help on anything that you have asked regarding the ring taxi but I have heard from people that I know have done it that it's worth experience and not to be missed. I certainly would jump at the chance :).
 
Just stand at the entrance and start chatting to people who have really nice cars and try and blag a lap.

Make a game of it. Who can blag a lap in the fastest car :D

Your sister will obviously win. (Especially if she's hot.) :p

Yes but if you ever have been to the 'Ring you'll also know how how it takes to walk to certain corners! My tripod weights about 6-8KG with the camera and other bits probably the same.

Check the VMAX Redline video as I was using it there :)
 
Does Sabine drive one of these?

If so could you please pull out her voice box mid lap:)

God her voice and constant talking while she drives annoys me:p

There is a couple of drivers who do it out there.

Forgot to say its weekend trips only - Not sure about bank holidays though.

Trust me, shes not!

Sabine is one of the drivers, and so is Andy Priaulx when hes not out winning Touring car champs. We will definately be going to the ring so will need advice on where to watch some action from aswell, but I like the idea of blaggig a lift or three
