Thought I'd better tell you guys that a new version of the free Trackmania is available next week, called Trackmania Nations Forever. Trackmania Nations is an excellent free to download and free to play racing game, focusing on time trial style racing (servers are full of people, but no crashing) I really like this game, although many dont try it because you can't crash into other vechiles, it means they're aren't any idiots ruining the game online. The other major factor about this game is the ability to create your own maps with the in game map editor, which is great fun, especially when your creation makes it onto a server for all to race :)

Forever is the free expansion pack that contains new parts, mainly lots of new blocks (the dirt track sections) from United, along with lots of new sections).

A new addition includes the ability to play on Nations servers with those that have United (the main retail version of the game, with a total of 7 environments, only £10 at any GAME stores)

Its out next wednesday, so for now have a look here for a nice trailer. The download prob wont be too large (the original Nations was 266mb and you can try it here)

Thanks, it's a good game, people get really into, with leaderboards and all, loads of competition for the top places, can't see me getting any though, I don't have the time to learn the tracks.

I lurrrrrrrrve Trackmania but only ever played the free versions along the years...shame on me. :o
 
Then reward Nadeo for their excellent games and go and buy United, imagne Nations (1 environment) and then 6 more (Rally, American, Alpine, Island, Bay and Coast), all being given an upgrade in Trackmania United Forever (which I think is out roughly the same time)

As I said, this game is dirt cheap and really worth it. With min specs so low too (1.6ghz, 256mb ram and 16mb graphics) it will work on lots of laptops too (ok, it may not look pretty, but at least you can use the map editor while on the train or something :rolleyes:)

One other thing I can also quite sure off, Trackmania United Forever WILL REMOVE STARFORCE. Lets not start a debate on it, (I've gone through 2 computers, a laptop and 6-8 games without any problems) but if you didn't get it due to Starforce, now you have no excuse :p

Urgh, could never get on with coast:( Love the Trackmania series though, been playing it for years now. Still loving TM United. Seen it available for under a fiver now, so much game for the money!

Not being rude (am sure you're a fine player:)) but Coast requires a lot of patience and skill. With the other ones you can pretty much get away on full speed, but with Coast you just need to know when to squeeze the accelerator and not skid. I enjoy it being much more of a challenge.

But I'm from the Trackmania Original days and Rally is still the best. Anyahoot, this youtube video is named Track-Mesa, showing off the new water and bridges and other blocks in one of the environments: American/Speed. As I've already said, this is 1 of the 7 environments in the retail game Trackmania United :)

No offence taken:D Just not my favourite of all the game types! Love Rally, and also Island.
 
I've just started playing United again and it's pretty cool. I'm only playing Stadium at the moment on either the 100% Stadium or Stadium Fun servers, but it seems like only the really good players are left. Getting into the top five on any track on the Stadium Fun server makes me damned pleased.

You can also grab United off Steam if you don't want to go outside and want it now.

Also track mania nations forever sounds like one of those names where they try and put every "cool" sounding name into it.

i.e. trackmania nations forever ultimate 3000 explosion fantasy of win.
