Just been shopping around as my insurance is due for renewal next month and so far elephant.co.uk have come up as my cheapest - by quite a long way.

Has anybody had any experience with them, and am I missing any small print because of the ridiculously cheap price?

I think they are very good for young drivers, then get more expensive after a few years? I got some great quotes back from them and will use the prices to barter with A-PLAN as they always manage to beat the price I give them.

Elephant have always been a very good company for me, both in price and service. They are the partner company of Admiral and share the same facilities and have Uk call centres.

^^ Funny that - I'm currently with Admiral. Will be interesting to see what my renewal comes up as with them too.

Elephant, Admiral and Diamond depsite being the same company all offer diferent prices. If you know a woman, any will do, go with diamond, put her on the policy and it should be cheaper than Elephant and Admiral even with a female driver on. Just for the love of ...don't tell anyone your with Diamond.

Otherwise Churchil are cheap on non modified.

They have just worked out well over £200 more expensive for me with the wife on the policy.:(

Been with elephant for years. Were very good for me.

Only moved as they wouldn't insure a modified car.

I assume you mean it was modified beyond the limits of what they'll insure? We've got all 3 MR2s insured with them and none of them are standard.

Personally they give me silly quotes... although they do actually quote at all which I suppose is a start!

I was with them for 10 years & never made a claim or got points & this years renewal came up as 264 which was the cheapest.
I didnt get paid from work for 6 days after renewal so I left car in my drive until paid, then called them up to pay & they increased it to 385 !!!!!!!!!!!! & would not budge, so I immediatly found someone else for 285, they are a bit thick if you ask me.

Yes.

When I started expaining the modifications involved in a Baja Bug, they ditzy girl on the line said she'd have to talk to her manager. :p

I was with elephant a few years ago.

Only added £60 for wheels, suspension and exhaust too!

I'm with Bell now, same parent company though.

I'm with Elephant and put my sister on the policy - cheapest quote I found by miles. Much cheaper than those on gocompare.com and those sort of sites too.

You get through to a UK call centre almost instantly which is a good thing.

Extremely helpful staff.

great company, and when i insured my own car were the first company i would quote with.

I'm with Elephant, joined this year after NUD tried to rape me! everywhere else quoted £1400+ whilst Elephant quoted me just under £900 FC :)

Did it over the phone, easy peasy.
