Hi,

A few guys from work and I are down in Birmingham for a training course next week and have decided to stay down for the weekend after it too.
None of us are from around there so we are looking for some advice on where to head to on nights out.

Birmingham is apparently the UK's second largest city so there must be a few on here who are from there. We're going to be staying in a place near New Street train station.

So, what are the best clubs?
We're all aged 23-25. We're not really after serious clubbing venues, we just want somewhere we can go and have a good laugh. Probably after places with a more studenty feel rather than guys in a suit paying £6 a pint kind of places (although none of us are students). We'd prefer places where we can wear jeans and a shirt or t-shirt rather than having to be in trousers.
Also what are good pubs/bars or what areas have a good few in them? We've heard Broad Street mentioned. Is this where all the nightlife is focused?
We'll be going out on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Finally, is there anything in particular worth doing during the day from a touristy point of view?

Cheers

Yeah either Broad Street or The Arcadian is where most of the action is. Best bet is to have a wonder round and see what takes your fancy. I don't know many people who wear trousers out these days so you should be OK in most places lol.

I was in Birmingham a couple of weeks ago. I will unashamedly say it's the most disgusting city I've been to in the UK.

We spent a few hours in Scruffy Murphy's, but unless you're into metal it's probably not your kind of place.

It's been over 10 years since i went out in Brum, Used to go to a club called Wobble, Awesome night out & the place proper kicked off. Coming out of there & having a sit down curry that is about the best curry you'll ever have is a Superb wind down after a nights raving
Great place to party, lovely people & up for it women & Awesome Currys, What more does a man need.
Thinking about it 12 years may have passed since then :(

Somebody put me down I'm done :(

There is plenty of good night life in Brum, depends what you like i hate broad street with a passion.

I would definately recommend The Custard Factory (Medicine Bar) and also the Que Club if anything is on there.
