M & S Food.

Those M and S adverts are like soft porn.

Seriously, I nurse a semi when they come on.

"This is no ordinary cake, this is warm, soft, luxiourious, swiss alpine nut, hand made, butte--oooo, mmmm, uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh".

I swear that lady could orgasm at any second.

For the record, M and S food surpasses all supermarkets by a mile. The quality of the fruit is extraordinary!

HAHAHAHAHA, so true:D

The advertisement team behind the adverts have come out and said they were aiming for food-porn - it's no secret.

Living on my own I do quite a bit of my shopping at M&S and it works out fine

I spend about £20 a week in there and that gets me 3/4 of the bulk of food. Then I just do my own rice or pasta, veg etc with it.

I do miss M&S sandwiches at lunchtime... we used to be near the massive one in Moorgate but now we are in Bishopsgate we don't have the luxury :(

BB x

tried one or 2 things from M&S but ive not been that impressed

seems very overpriced for not a great deal better quality

15 quid? :-o

How much were the individual items then? I shop at M&S quite a lot and haven't noticed it being that bad. For lunch it's actually cheaper than buying sandwiches from our canteen.

OAKHAM chicken....CR*P and not free range...

Go to a decent organice butcher for better meat than M&S

It's actually not that great

Oakham isn't free range but it certainly isn't ****. It's pretty succulent, more so than most other chickens available, even from my local butcher. Maybe you're just cooking it wrong?

Always go there when I'm at home, on my travels or in Cardiff. The premium is worth it because some of the stuff they have is really nice.

Wouldn't shop there all the time though :)

They opened a new cafe in the sandwich section of the Food Hall in their large Oxford Street store a couple of months ago.

The fresh sandwiches, and heated panninis they make at the counter are terrible considering how much they cost. You can go to Pret, Eat etc and get a much nicer hot sandwich for less money.

Though some of their pre-packaged sandwiches are very good, and I really like the special ones they make, such as 'Beef and Blacksticks Blue" which is awesome.

I bought 2 x chicken, ham and mushroom fillets, 2 x vegs and some mash.

The lots came to over £15.00.

MASH?

Come on now... even in the hurriest of hurries in a hurricane there is no way I'd be buying ready made spuds and hoping for a romantic night. :)

Well, compared to the meat from my organic butchers in Mill Hill, believe me Oakham chicken is pants and I don't need to try it again. If you like it then that's cool, just don't like to eat chicken that has been sitting in it's own ****!

I buy M&S stuff for convenience not for daily shopping. It doesn't hold a candle to Waitrose IMO. It is overpriced for what it is and I think you're right it has gone to their heads a little.
