South Africa: Deputy Safety and Security Minister Susan Shabangu has told police to ignore regulations and shoot any criminals who threaten them or the public in an effort to bring the massive levels of violent crime under control.

The country's rates of violent crime are amongst the highest in the world. 20,000 people are murdered each year. Shabangu says she will not tolerate pathetic excuses for not controlling crime, telling officers they had guns and were to use them.

Shabangu told the police that "you must kill the ******** if they threaten you or the community. You must not worry about the regulations. I want no warning shots, you have one shot and it must be a kill shot."

...and our whiny liberals moan about zero tolerance! It'd be great to sit and watch the fun unfold up 'Scabby' Abby on a Saturday night if this was allowed here. :D

Oh to be able to dispense justice without those annoying trials and things like burdens of evidence or anything like that.

Or not.

The way the criminal justice system is in this country, I'm not surprised folks are jumping up and down wishing she held office here. We've had a teenage gang causing extreme problems for nearly a year where my mother lives. Tens of thousands of pounds in damage (ongoing), burglary, vehicle crime, vandalism, assault, GBH, you name it.

The main lad in question has been arrested, charged and convicted at LEAST 15 times in the last year over this. The worst sentence to date? A tag for the week. Apparently the mags think anything "harsher" will only "make him worse". WTF?!

It's gotten to the point now where residents can just phone the local nick, and the response is "Right we'll get someone out to grip the scrote and bring him in for a good lesson tonight - again". And don't think I'm exaggerating or joking either! TWO separate officers have told THREE separate people in the area (me included) to take the individual involved on a long one way ride in the back of a transit van. Apparently we're assured they won't be looking too hard if he goes missing.

To quote one honest copper, "The courts are ****, we're sick of charging the **** so if you lot can sort him out just let us know when and we'll steer clear." Gotta love Labour Britain.

Your damned if you do and your damned if you dont. At least someone is trying to take a stand in a country where the criminals run the place currently. Most people here have no idea what life is like in SA (including those who have been there in holiday, living in a country is a far cry from a few weeks going to the tourist places). I for one applaude her but the PC brigade will always have their say.

when you think about it, in the world, there are good people, and bad people

if every one of those bad people were to be killed, there would only be good people left, which would make is so much safer and such a better place, so i think its a great idea, shame they wont do the same here!

Yeah great idea, kill all the "bad people" the world over...
