I just got back from town and I much prefer the quiet pubs. I couldn't hear a thing and speaking to someone involves shouting in their ears. Everyone seemed to be having a great time apart from me lol.

Is it because im 24 now and old ?

24 is old (coming from someone who is going to be 21 soon), but maybe you're just not the under-age-binge-drinker-that-has-a-love-for-club-music type of person.

There is really no shame in that. Go to an 80s bar (such as reflex) they are places of legend. :D

I prefer quiet pubs aswell.

I dont know why people have to shout even when there is no music playing it just makes everyone else shout, they dont seem to realise that you can still hear when everyone speaks at a normal volume.

I like a quiet pub night every so often, but I love a centre-of-town night too.

And a 'Big Club' night sparsely populated throughout the year :)

i was the same when i reached the grand old age of 20. :p

i much prefer a daytime drink with a nice pub lunch. :D

Nah love clubs, great atmosphere, gotta admit though drinks are an absolute rip off but thats business, but it's a great place to pull a tidy bird, the main reason I go haha, music is good as well. Not really into pubs, they are alright but im not really that much of a drinker, prefer to be at clubs and get some drinks down and have a great time. Just sets me back so much cash each saturday :(.

I'm 20 and prefer Pubs. Most of my mates back home also prefer chilling in a pub. All my mates up here for uni prefer clubs though. Which means we end up in Zanzibar in town. Which is an absolute joke of a place. I dunno how it can be so bad!

Clubs are very anti-social. And I have to agree, I prefer pubs, there at least I can hear other people talking next to me, I can have a decent conversation, and often the drinks aren't overpriced/watered down crap. And there is a lower concentration of morons in pubs to the equivalent of people/space in clubs.

Never liked clubs - and I don't generally like the sort of people who inhabit them either.

I'm the same.. I like CAMRA acclaimed style pubs. Love my trips to the country with a ploughman's and a pint too. Most of my crowd are giving up on the glass fronted pubs too now, they have no character at all and it's better to get a load of mates around to someone's house, lay some grub on and let everyone bring their own beer. BBQs in the summer too.
