broken coil springs, replace or fit Eibach kit ? *Eibachs now fitted*

Both rear coil springs broken

now it turns out the above is very common, new ones are £73 each and then the labour, AD quoted £320 , indy prob about £250 ( genuine parts )

any thoughts ?

strangely my brother in law had is 04 3series BMW serviced a few days ago and both the rear coil springs had broken too.............he was told that "this wasn't very common", hmmmmmmmmm - he was however quoted the same price as you from his BMW garage to have them replaced but luckily his car was still under warranty.

Eibachs now fitted :) supposed to be 20mm lower front and 10mm rear

Visibly there isn't much difference but handling feels really good though haven't really pushed it yet

Nice one. The handling really is something else when you go from stock to Eibach. It certainly was on my Focus @ 30mm. I'm used to it now though. Was a surprise at first though.

Lovely! I was dead impressed with the eibach pro-kits on my 172, nice little drop but a very nice handling improvement and the ride actually got better over standard.

Rotty did you get the geometry reset after you lowered the ride height? Your camber, toe and caster will all need realigning.

Not yet but the place that did the springs game me the details of a place for the 4 wheel alignment so going to get it done shortly
