Completely off track from "first pc" I know but oh what the hell :D

I used to be a General Manager at the Hotel Hatfield and met a fair few celebrities (Barabara Windsor included).

They always seemed to make it to Lowestoft for some reason

The first 'house' computer was a 486SX at 25Mhz .

Same here,
486SX 25Mhz (with a switch to drop it to 16Mhz if it was running too quickly!)
1mb ram (upgraded to 4Mb soon after at £125)
256k S3 graphics
40Mb hdd (upgraded to 500mb at £90)
no cd (until I bought one later at £100)

Had plenty of 8bit computers before that, but that was the first 'PC'.

Mesh
1.2GHz Athlon
256MB
40GB
GeForce 2 64MB
16x dvd
8x8x32 cd-rw

First computer was Amstrad CPC 464 in about 1984

First PC was a Elonex 286 SX 16, 2Mb Ram, 20Mb HDD and a CD-Rom, lasted for 1 week until I replaced the lot for a 486Dx2 66 running as a DX4 100, those were the days :)

First computer: Sharp PC-1211 with printer option. 8K RAM, 80 character scrolling display, could connect to standard cassette player for storage.

Upgrade to Commodore Vic-20 with 8K memory cartridge.

Upgrade to Commodore 64 with 300 Baud modem - the beginning of my hacking years!

First proper PC, I really held out and splurged then:

386DX 40Mhz
Math Coprocessor
8MB RAM
130MB HDD
Trident SVGA video 1024x768 @ 265 colors!
15" SVGA monitor
3-1/2 and 5-1/4 FDD
DOS 5.0 and Windows 3.1

Cost about $1500 then (£761).

Many moons ago my first computer was a c64.

I guess my first proper pc though was a:

486 sx25
1mb ram
100mb hdd
an SVGA 1mb graphics card

They were the good old days! :)

mine was an acorn have no idea what the spec was but ran the acorn os plus had an exe or equivalent to run windows 3.1 with a shady dot matrix printer which worked when it wanted to never when you wanted it to though :D

First computer my family bought was some Compaq running Windows 95

All I remember was that it had a 4x cd rom drive, a pentium I and 16mb of ram.

486 SX 25mhz
2mb ram
0.5mb gfx(was S3 or Trident)
250mb hard disk
2 speed cd rom (i think)
14" svga monitor

edit: does any1 remember chuck yaegar, screamer rally or vette?

I remember all sept vette.

Yeah, vette was like this racing game. cant remember all of it but you would get tickets if you speeded too fast, you had to do some kind of missions. I got the disc from central library.

In the end I was in a fit of rage due to the disc not working, I broke the cd. I then gave it back to the library and they never noticed..

My favorite was chuck yaegers, pretty good game.

omg we had the exact same, cept it had a 133mhz processor, we still have the case and monitor/speakers(which still get use):D

Mine was the same, but different internals.

Pentium 120Mhz
8MB RAM
1.2GB hard drive
8x cd-rom
1mb 2d trident

Upgraded the RAM to 32mb, upgraded the hard drive to 6.4gb, put a 24x cd rom in (holy crap that thing was noisy), added a Voodoo 3d accelerator :D and overclocked the CPU to 166Mhz :D
