If it's a company car, then yes. You have to use a *lot* of fuel to make it beneficial though. Most of the time it'd be more cost effective for the company to just increase your salary and you pay for your own private fuel.

mines much more simpler than you guys..i dont pay tax or nothing on it. i top up whenever and they pay it. doesnt effect my wages.

they say you cant use it for private use but i do anyway. im not insured driving it out of work hours but thats it.

I hear this too often.
If it's a van with company logo on you should be aware HMRC do random checks, and will sit in busy car parks spotting vans to check.

Also, please don't drive without insurance!

So they're paying for private use, but they don't know about it. And you're driving around uninsured?

Sounds like it, we have to fill these stupid forms in know, due to tax. Tax man wanted us to pay for the use as the company had a hard time proving business miles.

only sometimes. and if something happens then im gonna be working so im insured :D:D this vechicle aint tracked so how can they know anyway.

If you have an accident your employer will find out and know you weren't working. For the insurers to pay out your company will then need to lie to them and show them you were 'working'. If it goes to court it could get messy! Plus you could lose your job.

its temp anyway it ends in a few weeks. its the only car i have so i drive it everywhere tbh. its after 9pm which is outside work hours so yeah i wont be able to blag that if somethign happens unless it was like an emergency and i needed to use it:D;)

Lots of confusion in here. I discussed this with my accountant a while ago, and from memory it works like this:

Company Car + Fuel Card = Fuel card BIK worked out using the formula given earlier which includes the CO2 value.

Own Car + Fuel Card = The total amount spent on the fuel card is charged to the driver via P11D as additional salary, just like a car allowance payment would be. You can't have fuel card BIK with no company car. You can then claim the tax back on your business mileage via at a rate of 40p per mile.

As for which form to use, either your tax return or if you don't get one the P87 posted above.
