Well, as always there are other factors. If you owned an E36 in Plymouth and DIDNT wear a baseball cap, date a 15 year old and drive around and around town late at night with banging tunes shaking your Halford accessories off then people would look at you strange...

What are you blithering on about
I do believe he is implying that in or around the locale of Plymouth the owners of E36 BMWs are, in the majority, baseball cap wearing, 15 year old dating, tune banging, Halford accessory buying chavs.

But you knew that.

I don't see that many chavs in these. Perhaps I'm not looking hard enough.

Failed drug dealers on the other hand...

Excellent choice dude :). The one you wanted to go see was white wasn't it?. As I said before, imo lower it, get some black steelies on it, profit*.

Pfft i'm going to buy you some pink accessories for it. You always wanted a fluffy steering wheel cover...right?

(Its actually alright, not as good as my car obviously but it's cool)

I never said these cars were bad, far from it, they are cheap and cheerfull. Its just I struggle to see an e36 around here that doesnt make me think "well, hes bought that with his McJob wages and the weed dealing on the side"

Are you going to tell us how much you paid? of are we stuck with "not much"? lol

It was advertised at £750. I paid less than that and kept the audio stuff that was in it including the head unit.

after seeing this in the flesh a few hours ago, very good buy......also, they aren't half quick too for an (assuming) ~£600 car, it was EXACTLY evenly matched to my mondeo! I was carrying a passenger and weigh more to begin with, so i blame that :(

Tom.

Yeah, but its the thought of my wallet running away to Bosnia to hide if anything goes wrong with the BMW that makes me feel the Mondey is the better 'budget' car...

there is more to go wrong on the mondeo, and more expensive to fix....as i've learnt. Phone a garage and ask them for a quote on a headgasket or clutch change a on a 2.5l v6 mondeo....they'll either quote the earth or laugh and hang up

uh oh...

less than £750 is about what I have to spend...

no Skeeter, bad Skeeter, stick to the Mondey!

You'd still buy one regardless of the image you percieve them to have?

Under 750  Bet they're pretty rapid to drive aswell. I can get insured for not much more than my Focus.

Maybe I'll use one of these as a stop gap later this year :p
