****The official GT5 Prologue Thread****

Why are they letting people host games? They disconnect and just screw up the race for everyone else.

Hosted servers for free? This is Sony we're talking about...

There won't be a problem once we can actually choose who to race with. In fact, the multiplayer will improve leaps and bounds when we can do that.

Im sorry if this has been noted before but I hadnt come across it:

I think there is a bug in GT5P that really needs sorting out

In the ten minute time trials where you have a specific car and you need to beat lap times for each of the three awards I have been affected by the most ridiculous situation (specifically the Eiger Mountains in the Evo IX)

If you manage to get a silver time logged but you have enough time remaining (within the 10 minutes) to go for gold, and you dont manage it (ie only getting bronze time) when your time runs out you only get credit for the bronze and not the silver - unless you exit as soon as you have finished the lap and dont complete the next lap

Personally cant see any reason why this should be the case as you have legitimately completed a silver time (unless its an unintentional bug/"feature")

is it possible to join a certain race, like a OC's one? if one of us hosted?

Sadly no, or at least i am yet to figure that one out, if we all went in for the same one we might get it, im up for trying it if you want.

As for a race, to me coming from PGR (although playing GT3 and 4) it feels like a giant game of catch up, if you start at the back of the grid your kinda doomed to lose from the start, i'd love everyone to start on a grid.
As for the ghosting...i hit a car parked side ways half on half off the grass, yet some will ghost turning a sharp bend on the road driving perfectly fine
I know its "prologue" but :(

Has anyone esle noticed that in '3rd person' view that the wing mirrors reflect whats on the other side of the vehicle?

I was doing a few laps of the daytona ring and when I got in tight to the corners I saw a yellow line in my rright-hand side mirror.

anyone notice when a car runs off track the dust kicked up is really pixelated or is it just me? m87 running at just scan on game mode.

No, but is it really a point of discussion

Anyway - thats a Sammy right ? - same as mine - I dont use game mode. It's too bright and glossy.

I notice that if I see several cars going off the trick and kicking up dust (tends to be bumper-car multiplayer races) the game's framerate will dip a little. This is pretty normal though, all consoles and PC hardware struggles with a ton of soft particle rendering for some reason.

Yes I know, I was talking about slowdown which is a different thing. It does have a minor checkerboard effect too but I'm more concerned with the horribly drab looking environments (except for London, which is phenomenal)

Fixed in dx10 I remember reading but your right smoke will humble even the top graphics cards. Forza 2 can do this too I noticed usually after crashing so not a problem
