¯\_(ツ)_/¯
A friend of mine is selling these, and I'm tempted to pick them up. Are they any good? I know they won't have amazing bass, but that's not a problem as I already have a sub.

Also, I'm guessing they have an inbuilt crossover... Is it possible to bypass this and bi-amp these?

They're alright speakers. Nothing special but they've got a good punch (not much sub bass though) and will get you by.

Probably worth £50 (think they were around £100 new).

Well, he's only asking £25 for them, so it's not exactly the end of the world if I'm not too keen on them. They're bound to be better than the rubbish midi system speakers I'm using to the moment, (they leave a lot to be desired). I think I'll go for them.

Sub-pass is not a problem, as I'm building a tapped horn which should give me plenty of oomph between 20-100Hz. As for bi-amping, it's probably not the end of the world if I can't do it, I just saw the extra binding posts on the back and thought it may be possible...

For £25 you can't go wrong.

But bi-wiring is pointless, and bi-amping speakers like this is just as pointless. I would use some cheapy speaker cable with these, pick up some 'blue vanne damme' cable. It'l do the job nicely and is much better value than QED and other branded crap. :D

Yep you are right, plus with bi-amp if you get the crossover point wrong you can do more harm than good... :) If I had some high end pro-acs or similar then I guess bi-amping makes more sense, but it seems more trouble than it's worth for these... As for bi-wiring, snake oil IMO. :D

Anyway I've asked for first dibs on them, so I should be getting them somepoint this week... I doubt I'll need particularly amazing speaker cable, I find 2.5mm stranded mains cable works pretty well, as it has low resistance and is rated for 20A. Overkill I know, but I've got loads of it so I may as well use it.
