Hey there, my specs are in my sig.

Right now I have my x1900XTX connected by a DVI > VGA converter cable to a 26" Samsung HDTV.

Because the connection is analogue, I can play Blu-Ray disc (retail video) fine.

However, I was wondering what graphics card will allow me to connect to my HDTV via HDMI but allow for the security restrictions that blu-ray require for digital connections (can't remember the name), is this even possible?

Cheers.

you dont need a new graphics card.
Does the HDTV have a DVI slot, or just a VGA?
If theres no DVI slot just get a DVI to HDMI converter and there you go, digital connection.
With a few tvs(well with both the ones iv got) you cant get the proper res through vga anyway, so when i can be bothered ill be ordering a DVI cable and the HDMI adapter so i can get the proper 720p and 1080p resolutions of each tv.

It's an HDCP compliant card you are after, and a lot of X1900XTX are, but I don't know if Sapphire are.

Why would you want to switch connection, unless you are were upgrading for gaming performance reasons?

I got that advisor with my Blu-Ray drive.

This is what it showed;

but it doesn't say if the XTX is HDCP compliant or not.

The advisor software won't show any HDCP issues until you try a digital connection.

If it is compliant there should be a logo on the retail box and on the card itself, with HDCP in a square shape in white lettering on a red background.

That Cyberlink tool seems a bit poor, so if you're gonna use it make sure you properly check out the results!
"Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 3800 Series" - Unknown
"Graphics Card Driver: 8.471.0.0" - No.

And when you click on the relavent coloured spots:
" * ATI (recommended requirements): ATI Radeon HD 2400, 2600, 2900,
3400, 3600, 3800 series"
and
"Please make sure you download and install ATI Catalyst 7.12 and nVidia ForceWare 167.37 or later version"

Hmm...more testing needed, Cyberlink! Makes me wonder how many false positives there are out there
