Nokia N95 or LG Viewty

Just to be different, the U990 (viewty).
Its an excellent phone, very stable and decent battery life. Unlike the Nokia, its slim, light and different!

To expand on my quick answer, it depends what you want from a phone. Touch screen or no touch screen?

The nokia has the gps if that if is important to you.

Hiya

Want Touchscreen/Ease of use/The better camera and video/

:)

Hmm, think i've kind of own question. Anything to draw me back into the N95? I've got a Satnav so GPS is not a big thing for me but still a nice feature. I like the big screen and big memory though. Which camera is better?

Ive got a K800i at the moment, some users tell me that this camera is beter than the 5MP LG, lies? :p

N95 is the better camera allthough viewty has great video. Touchscreen on the viewty takes time to get used to.

viewty's are pretty awful phones with zero support from LG. they are slow, cumbersome and a pain in the arse some times. i bought one as an upgrade for my n95 and couldnt have made a worse decision. so i bought an iphone instead. the viewty is being sold and the n95 will be my backup phone. avoid the viewtys.

Sounds like you got a duff Viewty to me. I picked up a Viewty today as my N95 contract was up and I fancied a change. Very happy so far, the 3G HSDPA is much much faster, it works well as a phone and the picture quality is good with a lot more photo options.

Browsing the net is better on the Viewty than the N95 and so far the battery life is much MUCH better.

About my only concern with going from the N95 to Viewty is the lack of GPS. Google Maps + GPS on the N95 is a fantastic feature. To be able to reach into your pocket and know your exact location within just a few min is a very powerful feature IMO.

Still the Viewty feels slick and fast and more solid than the N95 ever did.

nope, 3 of my friends with viewtys have all seen the same problems. load the memory card up with some pictures and it grinds to a hault, takes up to 10 seconds to load a picture from the browser, similar time to get back to the browser.....n95 handles it perfectly. best picture browser on any phone in fact, iphone included. i have 700 photos on my card and the n95 doesnt batter an eyelid. more photo options is great, but the phones forget their photo settings. manual focus is very slow. the net is far better on the n95 and honestly since they introduce the paging on the last firmware, the n95 batter life went through the roof and is right on par with the viewty, easily.

Net browsing on the N95 is terrible. The Viewty beats it hands down, the fact that its touch screen helps but it also has a bigger screen. I have just put the mem card from my N95 into the Viewty and I got a couple hundred pics on there. No way it takes 10 seconds, there is a bit of a pause granted but its not that bad.

jesus do you want me to take a video of it or something? i wouldnt lie about the phone, ive got nothing to gain since i have both and an iphone sitting in front of me:rolleyes:

Vote for Nokia here. I'm no Nokia fanboy, but after owning an LG chocolate I'll never buy anything from LG again.

Their tech support is shocking. The times I managed to get through to tech they were clueless.
