Where's my "12/04 Weekend's Football" thread? *SPOILERS*

Chelsea drawing today doesn't change that much in the title race. They still need to win all their games and hope for Utd to drop points in a game other than the Chelsea game, only now Utd would have to lose that game where as before a draw would have been enough for Chelsea.

even before tonight Utd could have lost The Bridge game and won all other games to win the title (if Chelsea won all the others) - that would have left us equal on points but Utd ahead on goal difference ....as we were already three points ahead

Now of course we can actually lose that game and draw another when Chelsea win the corresponding fixture

Bolton could be a tough game for them....if Bolton are still in a dog fight with whoever going down (they might have already been relegated though)

Wst Ham did the double over us last season (admittedly last game was a dead rubber) and won the match earlier this season also

IT would be great if Utd didnt have to play our full 1st team against Chelsea so they are fresh (ish) for the 2nd semi at home to Barca, that would be a real boost

5 live commentary said they could see Chelsea winning the other semi - not playing like that they wont (at the Bridge let alone at Anfield)

Regardless of today's result, a win at Blackburn will do it for us I think. Still, nice to be under a bit less pressure.

Even if Chelsea dont win at Everton, ONLY a result at Ewood for us wouldnt do it (it MIGHT be enough, but no way to be sure - and quite a bit to risk)

If Chelsea lose on Thursday (I cant see this happening to be honest) and allowing for a decent result on Saturday, then I guess the gamble on the Wigan and WH results would be ok as long as it kept the flair players fresh (by not playing everyone at SB), somehow I think we will have to play full team there unfortunately no matter what happens

Isn't that what i said?

No I honestly dont think it was :)

Well you haven't understood. I wasn't saying Chelsea could draw with you but a draw between Utd with Blackburn etc would have been enough for Chelsea.

so people are meant to guess blackburn - when you are initially talking about a different game and never mention M Hughes's team?

hmmm ok

I was proven correct the last time, but never mind

I clearly said Utd had to drop points in a game other than the Chelsea game. I only mentioned blackburn as an example in the last post to try and clarify what i was saying, whether you lose to Blackburn or Bolton makes no difference. Understand better?

LOL you weren't :D

If you remember correctly you claimed he was on loan, i said he wasn't and.... he wasn't :p

haha HAVE SOME OF THAT LONDONERS

some lad threw his pint glass at the roof and made a big wet patch on the roof, the glass just missed my head.

Crap turnout out in the pub most of been 50 people disgrace, but a great game, we always had Chelsea on the set pieces and they are just not good enough to win the league simple, we have given Man United the league which is a sickener for us all but a point is one step closer to survival.

Nokkon - after all you said about

"Us not winning anything this season"

bah!

lol, it was match day drama. If you look back through the last few months of prediction leagues you'll see it's all reverse psychology. I was one of the few (and I mean few) that didn't write us off at the start of the season after our worst ever start.

Have a read through that Champions Elect thread :).

Indeed, you have 'given' us the title. We haven't done anything at all this season to warrant our position in the league, or even the fact we were in the driving seat before tonights game :p.

You go on about this whole North and South thing, but then hate on Man Utd when we're...

THE PRIDE OF ALL EUROPE, THE **** OF THE NORTH!

What an absolute shower of ****
Grant gets even more clueless, why rest your best players with only 4 games left and you're still in with a shout especially when the players you replace them with are a load of ********??
If players like Drogba, J Cole, Carvalho and SWP really need a rest with only 7 games max to go before they can bum around on a beach for a month then there's something wrong with their fitness levels, play your best team to start, get the game won, then pull them off if need be.
Whoever thought Anelka would be the answer to our striking problems and agreed to fork out £15m for him is daft, probably the same fool who brought in Pizarro, Shevchenko, Kalou and Ben Haim.
Anelka runs around a lot but I can do that.
Malouda is just a joke, he can't pass, tackle or take anyone on.
Ballack can't be bothered against the lesser sides, maybe he's just too good to play them.
Kalou is a lightweight who gets knocked off the ball too easy and never knows where his teammates are.
If those players genuinely have the talent to play at the top then it's the managers fault for not getting it out of them, I suspect the blame lies with both though.
It's just like watching England.
