So, has anybody played both the 360 and pc version? If so, are there major differences between the two?

Its just that if there isn't, will probably just pick up the 360 version for cheap second hand.

I think the only differences are, the PC version obviously has higher resolutions etc, the new directors cut investigation missions, and mouse and keyboard support (and wired 360 pad support). The 360 has acheivements etc. Personally id go with PC but either way its win-win :).

This game is mind numbingly dull and repetative. All the screen shots in the world are not going to improve that. SO what if it looks a bit pretty, we need an actual game below that. I have stopped after a few missions now and am playing stalker again. This time I have spoken with the Guide.

Does this game req 3gb of ram i heard it somewhere.

As already posted, nope but the more the better.

I'm running it on the spec of my desktop I posted earlier ( E6300-X1900XT 512Mb card and 2Gb Geil ULL 6400 RAM ) and it looks lush and runs brilliantly.

Did anyone else have to clock their card manually to its 3D settings when playing this? It runs pretty crappy on mine unless I manually change the clocks using Rivatuner (HD3870X2 card)

I dont understand. Was it staying in 2D mode, not switching to its 3D clocks?

is this a cpu intensive game, just a bit concerned about my stock 3800x2??

The 3800 is listed as the Minimum requirement, while the 4400 is the Recommended. I think youl be fine as long as you have a good graphics card to back it up :) (Which it looks like you do).

Basically yeah, although I can't be sure (is there some way of seeing the current clocks whilst in game?).

All I know is when I overclocked my card manually to 855/970 the game felt considerably better (at least 15 fps faster)

Completed it now, ending was rather weak and very very clichéd - complete rip-off of Jade Empire. The last two fights weren't overly any more difficult, I got annoyed more at the crashes making me replay certain sections again and not being able to skip cutscenes.

However, there's huge potential for a sequel, possibly in modern day to continue the storyline going on. It would be great if there was more of an RPG element, and definitely needs harsher consequences for killing. Apparently they've said one is in the works but it would be interesting how it turns out. I also enjoyed sneaking access onto the computer network and reading everyone's emails, a nice touch IMO :D

Here's hoping more games come out using the same graphics engine, it shouldn't be limited to one game! :)

I completed it a little while ago and i know what you mean. It didnt really answer anything but it left a lot open for a sequel (lots of ideas to run riot with). Not sure wether to *groan* at it or start digging deep like Lost :p.

I was going to get this, but one of my mates had it on 360 and he was saying how boring and repetitive it got so I gave it a miss.

Might end up buying it sometime in the future, graphics are nice but to me, gameplay > graphics.

I got it on 360 and it's awesome if you collect all the flags and **** it does not get repetitive.

I cant seem to be able to select 4/4 for graphics it wont apply and stays at 3/3,

Is there something i need to change in the ini ?

Running at 1920 x 1200 with a 9800 GX2

Have tried DX10 and DX9

Some peeps claim it detects GPU wrongly (cant comment), I get 4/4 for the 2 settings in Retail game but only got 3/3 in Leaked copy.

Im just not happy you cant set MS to 3/3 at certain RES's like 1600x1200 or 1900x1440.

At a guess, your card is too new and it may see it correctly by name but set it up wrong.

At another guess, you should be able to change any settings inc RES+Eyecandy in a .ini or .cfg file but I had no such luck on the Leaked copy trying to get 3/3 MS at my choosen RES.

Glad to see your not shy of telling us of your "leaked" copy at all. At least you went on to buy it I suppose.
