Something that confuses me

He has won 2 elections and stands a reasonable chance of winning a 3rd but I never met one single person that doesn't think he is a total prat

anyone shed any light on this ?

lost on me there, just because he is their candidate doesn't stop him being a prat, and I would assume folks don't worry too much about what party they represent in a mayoral election

The Mayoral elections have a real crud system when it comes to 2nd/3rd round voting which is what has kept him in power, I've met far more people who didn't vote for him but I've met plenty of people who admire him from afar, but funnily enough they're not affected by his unfair (TFL) policies.

Has done a lot of good for London in his time here, especially with public transport and there's projects on the horizon such as Crossrail which I think he has had a major part to play in.

Plus until now the alternatives have been nobodies, now the alternative is a jester

I honestly have never heard a good word about him

You don't live in or around London so it's probably not too high on your list of pressing subjects and the people you mix with might not be affected by what the London Mayor actually does or how he has affected your pocket in the name of saving the Earth, ******.
Down here he's like Marmite and I've met many ExPats who only hear the 'good' that he's done so maybe the media are on his side.

You should add that that's all in your opinion:)

He's a bit more outspoken than a normal politician, which imo is what people want from a mayor - someone who will stick up for their city rather than toe the party line. I think the Conservatives have realised this too hence the nomination for Boris this time round as their results with normal politicians have been pretty unspectacular.

Personally I wouldn't vote for Ken, but Londoners are all a bit mad imo.

'unfair policies' isn't just in your opinion? Might struggle to 'prove' policies are fair or not.

Meh, pedantism.

Unless I post otherwise or link to a source everything I post on OcUK is my opinion. The previous sentence is a statement not an opinion.

OK, bottle out if you want.
TFL's implementation of the CC and LEZ are just an unfair tax on those of us who have no choice but to enter their 'verboten!!' area if we want to keep our jobs, none of their supposed cleaner air taxes have achieved what they profess they're in place for and they never will probably, so it's unfair. In my opinion only of course, but then I'm only hit in the pocket big time by their theft and have seen absolutely no reduction in traffic in either area.

I can understand why small businesses etc are anti-Ken. I'm in favour of what he has done for public transport but remain to be convinced by the congestion zone. Free art galleries and museums is a great thing, although was that nationwide policy or just London? Ken has certainly helped increase London's profile but his environmentalism is a bit grating. Not as bad as that Sian Berry pillock though, her Dad was a teacher at my old school and was a great guy but she's just dumb.
