IP35-Pro + Q9300 - Help me overclock further PLEASE

I'm running with 425*7.5 = 3.1875ghz but need some with voltages and percentages to increase the overclock.

I have took off the heatpipe and put MX-2 paste on the 12 mofsets power chips instead of the crappy sticky pad, i've put paste on the northbridge too instead of crappy sticky pad and i've put paste on southbridge instead of the previous white crappy paste.

Cpu is about 31c ish idle with about 1.32v with watercooling, Chipset is about 28c idle and PWM about 47c idle. Those temps go up to around 38c, 34c, 60c under load. All found using latest uGuru.

I dont have a clue about the other voltages shown in the screenshot below:

voltage%20control.jpg

Currently have:

CPU Core Voltage at 1.3205v
DDR2 Voltage at 2.2v
CPU VTT at 1.13v
MCH at 1.33v
ICH at 1.05v
ICHIO at 1.5v
CPU GTLREF 0&2 - 67%
CPU GTLREF 1&3 - 67%

Please help me with the voltages and percentages marked in BOLD as i've looked everywhere and there is hardly anything that i can find. I'm using the official Bios 16 by the way.

61% CPU GTLREF is meant to be the better setting for the new quads going by a DFI thread, but I haven't seen it tested in the IP35 pro. Still waiting for my Q9450 to arrive.

If you're running four 1gb sticks then set the DDR2 Ref Voltage to +2%, otherwise leave it alone.

Set the MCH to 1.4v, and up the CPU VTT to 1.3v. The others are probably fine at 0.05-0.1v above stock.

Also consider flashing the v17 b02 BIOS.

Custom PC did a review on this chip and stated the overclocking ability was poor etc, so you may struggle. Have you tested your ram?, a that is very tight and fast for 6400 ram.

BTW My Q9300 runs perfectly stable at 1.25V and 3Ghz (400*7.5?). I did bump +.1V on the DDR and on the northbridge. The DDR-crap-5300 at 800mhz are at 2V only.

Of course I didn't try to push it to the max, I'm happy with reasonable performance gain vs power consumption and noise :-)

Yeah i might try Bios 17 b02.

Its 2*2gb sticks, it does 1080mhz 5-5-5-12 2.2v 100% stable, used it at that speed with my e6400 i had.

Need confirmation about those percentages for CPU GTLREF.

Any other advise people, anyone have a 45nm quad too with a ip35-pro?

Try the Abit forums. I've found them to be a pretty good source of info for the IP35-Pro in the few days that I've had mine.

60C at idle seems a bit high for the PWM.
The reason that they use a thickish pad is to allow for taking up tolerance across the whole width - it doesn't sound like you have good contact. You might want to check out http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=2330347&postcount=751 .

Also from what I'm reading on XS a lot of people are running into an fsb "wall" on Yorkies ~460fsb on various mobos.
