Trackmania Nation Forever

I got the retail version of TMU, am I right in thinking that the upgrade will bolt-on to this program, or will it be a completely seperately installed game?

I just tried the update button on the launcher screen of TMU and it still says the game is up to date?

Just had a quick play. Seems a lot more detailed (everything is going for the "hd" effect?) in game and menus are a lot better.

TMUF installs into a stand alone directory but requires TMU to be installed. It then uses its own EXE files, but from what I can tall it is a bolt on, using all the TMU files and resources just with a different top end. It keeps all your settings and stuff.

The installer copies all the files it needs from the TMU folder to the new TMUF folder and it's safe to uninstall TMU afterwards - I've just done so :).

I grabbed it off Steam as soon as I got home at 2.1Mb a second and it only took a few minutes to download and install. Had to reset my controls (XBOX 360 controller) and play around with the graphics and sound settings to get everything working nicely again, but on the whole it's not changed too much since vanilla United.

Will have to work out how to import my car and avatar again though!

the 3D glasses option is soooooooooo cool :p

I downloaded the free Nations version, but I already have some red/blue glasses..

it's like playing a hologram :D

The servers seem bigger. I haven't played for over 6 months but was playing just now in a server with 250 people. Came 7th in one :D
