I'm looking to buy one, thing is, I don't know whether to pay £20 for the official one and have peace of mind that it won't be fuzzy/dodgy, as I have read on reviews of other ones that they often aren't shielded or are just poor quality and are fuzzy, whereas the M$ one is shielded etc. Anyone got a cheap VGA cable that works well with other equipment near by etc, I would have it by a PC, external HDD, small speakers, and two moniters. Do unshielded cables only get fuzzy by massive woofers and other strong stuff that emits huge amounts of death rays? Thanks.

I see, I was just wondering if any others were shielded as this seemed to be the main problem, but the details were always vague on non official ones. Thanks, I will buy a new moniter and the cable and wait for GTA 4.

I made the mistake of buying two - yes, two - third party VGA cables before ending up realising they were no substitute for the real thing...

That's the last time I buy a knockoff product from 'Macrosift'

I got a madcatz one and it is fine, no problems and as good as the original Microsoft ones. If you wanna be safe go with the MS one though. Not all are as good!

What's the difference?

I read cable inteference basically doesn't happen unless the cable's over 2m in length... (or something like that).

How good does a 360 look on a monitor?

I have a 25" 4:3 Sony Triniton TV that I use now and a Samsung 205BW (20" WS TN panel). How would the xbox look on the panel through the VGA cable?

I can second that, I used to have a madcatz one and it worked fine with a CRT. I heard LCD screens might be more picky

I bought a Madcatz one when i first got my 360 as they were the only VGA cables you could buy anywhere after realease with that shortage that went off of pretty much all 360 accessories

It was absolutly rubbish. On both my 19" tft and my 720p projector i had REALLY bad ghosting to the point where it looked like the whole screen had been copied onto another layer (photochop style), made fainter and shoved to the right about a cm. I think some of the reason was because the cable was 15feet long and non of it had any sheilding (the cables for the L and R audio were thicker than the actual cable for the VGA!)

Go official, guaranteed not to regret it!

I bought the Official one at the same time has a bought my 360. The picture quality is great. I find it looks it best at 720p anything above makes the quality worse. Crazy
