Just curious as to how good/quick rma are with motherboard manufacturers.

I know DFI is based in the Netherlands & Abit has moved their since 2008.

Gigabyte is based in the UK, charge you £10 but the rma is quick.

I've normally bought Abit motherboards but if something goes wrong then I want to have the assurance I have a quick rma turnaround hopefully based in the UK.

Thoughts please & if anyone knows about MSI, Foxconn, Asus, Biostar etc etc please post.

Does Asus still take like upto 2 months for rma to be sorted?

Not exactly what you asked, but hopefully it will still help.

When I bought my Gigabyte board it arrived DOA, I RMAd it straight away, through OCUK, new one was here within a week or so.

I think thats standard procedure, I've had DOA motherboards in the past & got replacements within a few days.

I should have been more accurate i.e. after 28days of purchase. :)

I do know that within 1 year the retailer are obliged to sort out the returns & where they specify can be longer?

I'm looking at speed of the rma itself really, or if we have more than just Gigabyte for UK rma services. :)

having problems with my evga 680i mobo atm and to rma it i have to send it off to germany which sucks :(
Most likely just gonna buy a new mobo and then ebay the one i get back off the rma as i cant be arsed to wait ages.

I purchased a motherboard from another site. Arrived faulty, so sent it back straight away. They buggered about with my RMA really slowly, and by the time they were to replace it they had no stock. So ordered a straight refund instead and purchased from OCUK. Still haven't got my money back yet though... took them almost two weeks to even process the refund request.

Haven't bought much from OCUK, so have never had to return anything to them.

How long does DFI take from sending it to them in the Netherlands normally?
i'm RMAing my MSI board now - i'll let you know how it goes
Hi there, are you doing the RMA through the retailer or through MSI themselves? if 'ts through MSI do you send them to a UK address? will be interested to see how it goes - hope its quick for you.

Asus were willing to RMA a board with a broken fan retainer because they did not carry them as spares. Knowing it meant sending overseas (must be the US judging from the awful postage times they give), I just bought a fan with a custom retainer instead.

Still I thought it was generous to offer RMA for such a small thing.

Maybe its strange but maybe 50% of my buying decision of a motherboard is based on the manufacturers rma set up.I would never buy a motherboard that I had to post abroad for an rma.
