Season Ticket Prices 2008/09 Season

OK so it's not football but it gives some perspective of how overpriced football is. Our season tickets entitle us get into any race meeting at either Snetterton or Cadwell park, which includes a BTCC meeting, British GT/F3 championship, 2 rounds of the British superbike championship, plus over 60 club level events. In total about 120 full days of action.

The cost of this? £100 each.

Yes its 120 days of motorsport action - most of these days are equivelant to league two or three.... where the prices are about the same

a ticket in a grand stand to an F1 race is around £100-200 (F1 is the self-proclaimed pinacle of motor-racing just as much as the EPL is for football)

Even just a standard pass for F1 is what £40 or something, if you are lucky you can get a seat at Chelsea/Man Utd/Liverpool/Arsenal for a match

No real difference (if anything F1 is more expensive as you would have to pay around £600 for a season pass to every race - for 1/2 the amount of events)

Im a motorsport fan - and I just went to the Aussie GP, so Im happy to pay the price, but you should really compare apples to apples - not apples to chocolate :)

I'm not comparing anything. F1 is another league altogether and is something that even dedicated motorsport fans may only go to a few times in their lives (In that respect it's probably more equivalent to a major international football tournament)

Club level racing is the bread and butter of motorsport that the fans will go to on a regular basis and as such I think it's fair to equate going to my local circuit every week to those who chose to buy a season ticket to go to their local football stadium once a fortnight. My post was more aimed at those who consider it good value to pay £3-400 a season to watch bottom half of the table premiership and championship clubs

I don't think the Spurs season ticket prices have been announced for next season yet but I'm expecting a rise.

Upper East stand cost me £800 last year. Could be as much as £840 next year.

You are comparing the pinacle of one sport to a club meeting in another - cant really see any worthy comparison

well so much for me getting my normal seat for next year. The club have decided that the whole of the south stand will now be offered to away teams from next season. Meaning I have to move. :(

Fulham, cost £289 for mine in the Johnny Haynes Stand, will be cheaper next year i think - for a renewall (maybe relegation? :p). Got a discount on it too, should be £349 for my seats. Not only that, we have 3 season tickets, and the row we sit on is only 2 seats all the way back, so we dont have to keep getting up for people :p. Will be renewing two, not sure on third (mum).

Edit:

Still waiting to hear the new prices for the next season..guess it depends whether they stay up!

Haven't received our prices yet, but I expect it to be up on last seasons £1165, so I'll have to split it with my mate again.

Mine at united this season £440 scoreboard end near the corner flag.

Upper tier, 10 or so rows from the front, near the corner flag as well.

Seriously mate, do it.

Its a lovely atmosphere in the Cottage, and very well priced.

Nokkon doesn't like it for some reason, but the prices should not be any higher than last year.

Johnny Haynes Stand is awesome, it all depends where you want to sit really.

Riverside is a bit snobby and its the quiet stand, the Johnny Haynes you get good action, and some noise.

Its one of the few stadiums where you can sit a few yards from the pitch itself.

I'll let you know my renewal price when they're announced :).

Depending where you live, its also very easy to get to too!
