maybe the phenom 9850 BE isn't bug free!!!

Sounds like a bad core, RMA it and get a new one.
i've emailed amd. i got a reply back and it says "Please provide full systems specifications. Was the processor swapped with another one without any changes to software or this is new build with fresh installation of operating system?
Please provide your full name, phone number and address in case we may need to create warranty replacement for this item."

The processor was swapped with another one (phenom 9500) and i did a fresh installation of the operating system..

anyway hopefully they will replace it

have you run memtest?

I thought the previous phenom bugs just affected performance not stability? I was under under the impression cpus either worked or didn't.

yes i've ran memtest and its ok...

the B2 phenoms bug don't affect the performance. the bug sometimes makes the system crash. if u flash the bios with the bug fix then it'll affect performance...

aahh clear now :) still.. tried memtest? Most of my experience of BSODs have been memory related in some shape or form.

Maybe you just overclocked it too much.

"tbh its a good cpu. its fast at stock.. i oc it to 2.7ghz @ stock voltages. 2.8-2.9ghz needs 1.30v"

Bit of an outrageous claim just because you're having bad luck though.
What voltage is the CPU at?
the error message is the same as the TLB Bug.....

stock 1.28v

anyway amd is replacing it..

everything is at stock. it isn't oc...
Might sound a bit stupid to even ask but have you cleared CMOS?
yep i've done that

Can you put the 9500 back in? Do the problems go away again?

It's a bit harsh to say it's "not bug free" - broken components do get sent out, it's a way of life, and to be honest it sounds like you're just unlucky. :)
